An amusing anecdote about Ted K's circle of super-fans is that one of these guys, Normandie, recorded a 6 hour audiobook of ‘Anti-Tech Revolution’ and then got rewarded with a DMCA, with no further explanation:

How Normandie explained his ideological journey

My grandpa was almost full Iroquois and he bore a strong resentment against Anglo people for genocide. Ended up drinking himself to death in anger and it even further radicalized my own parents to a traditionalist lifestyle just southeast of where my family was originally from, former Iroquois confederacy area.

Originally I was raised in an Amish community in Keosauqua, Iowa. But when I was 16 I moved from Iowa to Huntsville, Alabama.

It was very anprim but they were completely deluded with a religious and fanatical reverence for 18th century technology. It was also very humbling. But most of the time as a young child I felt insulted by my parents and my community by their backwardness when we ventured into the town market to buy goods.

It was also the opposite of anprim as they worshipped and modelled their society on an authoritarian sky daddy.

I have come to revere the Natives because my grandfather was one. He didn’t revere their culture, only their disdain of modern society. Native American culture places a lot of value in long hair as a symbol of masculine self-confidence.

I lived in an apartment 2 years ago and was planning on going into some technophile science to study gravitational energy which was a delusion of mine and then I took LSD and randomly came across Industrial Society and Its Future while tripping and it immediately clicked for me despite me being a very passionate Marxist at the time, I think the LSD allowed me to not have my ego flare up when Ted talks about leftism and I was able to step back from my convictions and give the literature its fair due and, well, now here I am in the wilderness growing my stuff, caring for chickens, building the cabin, and being in the presence of the divine natural.

I’d prefer human beings exist without sedentary civilizations, some hunter gatherers practiced a form of ‘slash and burn’ agriculture but I’m not sure if that’s the proper terminology for what they were doing. Regardless, there’s few places in the world left today to hunt and gather, and they are already inhabited by tribes (besides Alaska). I’d prefer humanity hunt and gather, but I’m going to have to subsist myself with permaculture vegetables because I feel the need to engage with the anti-tech revolutionary movement.

I was vegan for 7 years when I lived in the city, since I moved to my homestead I’ve begun eating eggs and fish again though because I’m trying to emancipate myself from outside food and so far I’m doing good but I’ll really be set when I grow my grains this autumn.

As many of you are aware, the global monetary system, often referred to as a ‘fiat’ system, is one that is comprised of convoluted and arbitrary concepts that are designed to be manipulated whenever they need to be. The primary reason that the world was taken off of the ‘Gold Standard’ (first in the early-mid 20th century when most major countries abandoned phsycial gold backing for their currencies and instead switched to basing their currency on the strength of the United States Dollar, which was still backed by gold, and then finally and totally in 1971 when Richard Nixon took the USA off of the gold standard) was because gold-backing of currency largely prevents sophisticated manipulation and irresponsible economic practices, and the prevention of these practices became a considerable obstacle in ‘economic development’ when the mega-rich public and private institutions realized just how much would be possible with no gold standard (really it is only development in the pursuit of consolidating wealth in the hands of the already wealthy).

The world has since moved to a system based not on any physical item of mutually agreed upon value, such as gold and silver, but is instead now based on the arbitrary and malleable value of a complex web of global debts.

This has resulted in a drastic devaluing of global currency for which you can see in this graph:

You will notice the sharp rise in devaluation of currency starting in 1971, whereas currency value had been largely stable before then because it was backed on a mutually agreed upon item of value (gold).

Another result of this reset of the economic system starting in 1971 was a drastic increase in wealth inequality. This manifests itself in many ways, such as the lack of correspondence starting around that time of worker productivity vs. wages that workers earn as shown in this graph:

Another mechanism of wealth consolidation at the top is what has become the regular ‘bailout’ after the regular ‘financial crash’, wherein which governments rush to print and pump trillions of dollars to prop up the stock market and bailout banks and corporations (who caused the crashes and thus take no responsibility for it, in fact they are encouraged to continue their illegal and irresponsible practices because they always end up richer even if they crash the economy). You’ll notice that regular Americans, millions of which are about to be evicted from their houses and millions of which are now unemployed (and their jobs likely aren’t coming back) received a laughable one time check of 1200$ whilst the Federal Reserve has made available initially $5 trillion and eventually up to $50 trillion available to the richest banks and corporations. The first covid-19 stimulus was the largest upward transfer of wealth in the history of mankind.

The elite know full-well just how big of an opportunity the covid-19 pandemic is to restructure the economy in whatever was best suits them, and whatever best suits them is whatever best screws you and I. This is leading to what is known as the ‘Great Reset’ which is approaching swiftly, starting implementation by late 2021. This leads to me a discussion of what exactly I think this new world is going to look like.

I have seen many people gleefully excited about the technological ‘advancement’ that is approaching of complete automation. Many people foolishly think that automation is going to free people of having to work and that the monetary products of automation will altruistically be used to benefit all of mankind! If you look at our recent historical trend, you will see that this is extremely unlikely if not down right impossible to happen. In fact, the modern economy is so incredibly efficient that many people shouldn’t actually have to work. However, this would not good for the behaviors that the elite corporations would like people to have. So, we have inspectors of inspectors of inspectors and find any way to keep people working. David of the Raptitute blog explains this well in Your Lifestyle has already been Designed

‘As technologies and methods advanced, workers in all industries became able to produce much more value in a shorter amount of time. You’d think this would lead to shorter workdays.

But the 8-hour workday is too profitable for big business, not because of the amount of work people get done in eight hours (the average office worker gets less than three hours of actual work done in 8 hours) but because it makes for such a purchase-happy public. Keeping free time scarce means people pay a lot more for convenience, gratification, and any other relief they can buy. It keeps them watching television, and its commercials. It keeps them unambitious outside of work.

We’ve been led into a culture that has been engineered to leave us tired, hungry for indulgence, willing to pay a lot for convenience and entertainment, and most importantly, vaguely dissatisfied with our lives so that we continue wanting things we don’t have. We buy so much because it always seems like something is still missing.

Western economies, particularly that of the United States, have been built in a very calculated manner on gratification, addiction, and unnecessary spending. We spend to cheer ourselves up, to reward ourselves, to celebrate, to fix problems, to elevate our status, and to alleviate boredom.

Can you imagine what would happen if all of America stopped buying so much unnecessary fluff that doesn’t add a lot of lasting value to our lives?

The economy would collapse and never recover.

All of America’s well-publicized problems, including obesity, depression, pollution and corruption are what it costs to create and sustain a trillion-dollar economy. For the economy to be “healthy”, America has to remain unhealthy. Healthy, happy people don’t feel like they need much they don’t already have, and that means they don’t buy a lot of junk, don’t need to be entertained as much, and they don’t end up watching a lot of commercials.’

People really have fooled themselves, somewhat understandably, into thinking that once the elite have and own all of the machines that will automate their techno-industrial system, they will just let 8-9 billion people chill and keep them fed and housed for them. This is not entirely impossible, but I find the costs of keeping the superfluous around far outweigh any benefits, as well as considering the fact that great wealth generally makes a person mostly unable to empathize with regular people or have compassion for them. The much more likely scenario, if we are unable to perform a revolution against the technological system in a reasonable amount of time during the automation explosion, is that the wealthy will simply let the majority of the superfluous population wither away and keep a small group of laborers there to serve them as cattle (as we already serve them as a mass herd of cattle). This will of course be the transition period between the automation explosion and when humans are entirely replaced by machines. A very similar situation is actually described in Industrial Society and Its Future by Theodore Kaczynski:

‘On the other hand it is possible that human control over the machines may be retained. In that case the average man may have control over certain private machines of his own, such as his car or his personal computer, but control over large systems of machines will be in the hands of a tiny elite — just as it is today, but with two differences. Due to improved techniques the elite will have greater control over the masses; and because human work will no longer be necessary the masses will be superfluous, a useless burden on the system. If the elite is ruthless they may simply decide to exterminate the mass of humanity. If they are humane they may use propaganda or other psychological or biological techniques to reduce the birth rate until the mass of humanity becomes extinct, leaving the world to the elite. Or, if the elite consists of soft-hearted liberals, they may decide to play the role of good shepherds to the rest of the human race. They will see to it that everyone’s physical needs are satisfied, that all children are raised under psychologically hygienic conditions, that everyone has a wholesome hobby to keep him busy, and that anyone who may become dissatisfied undergoes “treatment” to cure his “problem.” Of course, life will be so purposeless that people will have to be biologically or psychologically engineered either to remove their need for the power process or to make them “sublimate” their drive for power into some harmless hobby. These engineered human beings may be happy in such a society, but they most certainly will not be free. They will have been reduced to the status of domestic animals.’

Of course, this passage by Kaczynski does not mention a point that he has made in his most recent book, Anti-Tech Revolution: Why and How, about the extremely likely scenario that the technological system will destroy itself by destroying the ecology of the planet it exists on down to mere bacterium. You can read about that in Chapter II of that book. Since it is not pertinent to this discussion, I will not insert the excerpt into this post, but the PDF is readily available online.

The near future is going to be one of great hardships and even death for the people who are not prepared. Money is only valuable for as long as you can walk in a store and walk out with bread. There will very possibly come a day when that will not be the case, and the real currency of that day will be a person’s practical survival skills, i.e. their ability to secure their own physical necessities, shelter, and safety. This would be a great time for everyone to begin, if you haven’t already, to familiarize and educate yourself on farming, foraging, hunting, fishing, preserving food, and myriad other skills one could see oneself needing if one is not already self-sufficient and off-grid when the system collapses.

Misanthropy: An Analysis

In the previous post, we mentioned how a dedicated analysis of misanthropy is due. Misanthropy is generally defined as a dislike of humanity as a whole – that is to say that the misanthrope judges the net value of humans as negative. A misanthrope will look at the state of the world and conclude that, while there are good people, most people are bad, or that people are inherently bad, and even the good people can and probably will do bad things. This immobilizes and neutralizes many people who know what is just and would otherwise act in the face of evils but instead deem humanity not worth fighting for. This is a mindset that is very pervasive in the west and exists as a retort to criticisms of capitalism: ‘it is just human nature to be greedy!’. We will analyze the most common reasons for misanthropy and assess their validity.

However, before we begin to break down our analysis, let us first mention the genealogy of this topic. While this has likely been discussed for much longer than half a millennia, Thomas Hobbes argued in the 17th century that humans are essentially ‘bad’ by nature, specifically that without a state they toil and war in misery, whereas Jean-Jacques Rousseau argued that the bad in humans are brought out by civilized conditions and the natural state of humans as they existed in the wild is good. Of course, the real arguments of these two philosophers are more complex and have much more to them than this simple dichotomy makes it seem. Nonetheless, drawing attention to this will serve the purpose of this article in which I argue that man is made bad.

One who holds that it is human nature to be greedy must make the ridiculous assumption that it suddenly became human nature to be greedy when civilization began a mere few thousand years ago. The nomadic hunter-gatherers did not accumulate material possessions past what they needed or, at most, had small trinkets and decor, mostly for spiritual purposes. There were and are even many civilized societies who do not hold the want for accumulation of material possessions past what they need. The paradigm of greediness exists, for the most part, in developed industrialized nations where the economy depends on having a large base of consumers who are conditioned to accumulate material possessions just for the sake of doing so, usually because it is a surrogate activity. Consumerism, as we know it today, was born, depending on the country, around the 18th to 19th century in Europe during the ‘consumer revolution’. Prior to then, the only people who were seriously obsessed with commodity accumulation were aristocracies who did not have to exert themselves for much of anything, hence their consumerism was a surrogate activity to fill the void of a lack of power process. While there are modern peoples who are not very materialistic, there are also ancient peoples who were materialistic (that is the classes in those societies above the slaves were) such as the Aztecs. However, all greedy peoples are civilized.

Humans have a great potential for social plasticity, but their core nature did not change in the relatively quick transition from nomads to sedentary civilizations. That nature, which can be reasonably observed to be mostly egalitarian and shared, evolved over hundreds of thousands and millions of years of gradual change, and is not going to be re-written in a few hundred years by industrialism. I will give an example for plasticity and for the conflict between modern conditions and human nature. With regards to social plasticity, there was an immense change in the way of life for peoples in Europe during the 17th and 18th centuries. Lands that had hitherto been lived on and worked on by a tight and organic community began to be encroached upon by the rise of capitalism. The mercantile class forcefully and violently seized lands from all those who were members of communes of this time. This made out of the population a herd of landless people who had no choice but to move to the cities and sell their labor to a member of the capitalist class in order to be given money.

‘At the same time (and this is the second factor which made for the plasticity of the social milieu) a systematic campaign was waged against all natural groups, under the guise of a defense of the rights of the individual; for example, the guilds, the communes, and federalism were attacked, this last by the Girondists. There were movements against the religious orders and against the privileges of Parliament, the Universities, and the Hospitalers. There was to be no liberty of groups, only that of the individual. There was likewise a struggle to undermine the family. Revolutionary legislation promoted its disintegration; it had already been shaken by the philosophy and the fervors of the eighteenth century. Revolutionary laws governing divorce, inheritance, and paternal authority were disastrous for the family unit, to the benefit of the individual. And these effects were permanent, in spite of temporary setbacks. Society was already atomized and would be atomized more and more. The individual remained the sole sociological unit, but, far from assuring him freedom, this fact provoked the worst kind of slavery. The atomization we have been discussing conferred on society the greatest possible plasticity-a decisive condition for technique. The breakup of social groups engendered the enonnous displacement of people at the beginning of the nineteenth century and resulted in the concentration of population demanded by modem technique. To uproot men from their surroundings, from the rural districts and from family and friends, in order to crowd them into cities still too small for them; to squeeze thousands into unfit lodgings and unhealthy places of work; to create a whole new environment within the framework of a new human condition (it is too often overlooked that the proletariat is the creation of the industrial machine )-all this was possible only when the individual was completely isolated. It was conceivable only when he literally had no environment, no family, and was not part of a group able to resist economic pressure; when he had almost no way of life left. Such is the influence of social plasticity. Without it, no technical evolution is possible. For the individual in an atomized society, only the state was left: the state was the highest authority and it became omnipotent as well. The society produced was perfectly malleable and remarkably flexible from both the intellectual and the material points of view. The technical phenomenon had its most favorable environment since the beginning of history.’

Society transformed from close communes to herds of wage-slaves with no real community (not anywhere near the kind of meaningful community that existed before, despite being crammed into a city and surrounded by people), often times no real family, and made to scrap for subsistence by performing incredibly specialized labor which, among many other things, alienates them from a sense of purpose. It is difficult to overstate just how severe this change was. People went from securing their psychical necessities in varied and interesting ways as an individual or part of an autonomous small group to performing a specialized task handed down from some detached authority. Clearly, humans have a high degree of plasticity in what they can be culturally conditioned to do. However, this does not mean that their nature has been changed. They are just playing by the rules of the system that they inhabit.

There are many clear symptoms of the contradictions between the way human nature evolved for hundreds of thousands of years, let alone the general nature of an animal that has evolved for many millions of years, and behaviors the cultural environment produces in humans. This manifests itself in many ways, and we have previously touched on a major source of suffering in the modern world in a previous post, that being an inability for modern man to satisfyingly go through the ‘power process’ or to do so with autonomy. A major source of conflict, directly related to the lack of autonomy and power process, is the change of man from a human and into a machine. Whereas man was once a living organism who spent his day as he pleased and securing his psychical necessities in any way he saw fit, our technical civilization is in the process of technicizing everything, including man. More and more, everything has to be mathematically efficient and rational. You must be as productive as possible. The lack of meaning and spirit in modern life produces all sorts of social ills. We have previously covered the very high rates of depression and suicide in modern man but there is also boredom, demoralization, low self-esteem, inferiority feelings, defeatism, anxiety, guilt, frustration, hostility, spouse or child abuse, insatiable hedonism, abnormal sexual behavior, sleep disorders, eating disorders, et cetera.

It is not that these things did not exist in pre-industrial societies, but they are extraordinarily exacerbated by industrialization and urbanization. These things were incredibly rare in hunter gatherer societies. That is because man was evolved to exist in his environment.

Technique has penetrated the deepest recesses of the human being. The machine tends not only to create a new human environment, but also to modify man’s very essence. The milieu in which he lives is no longer his. He must adapt himself, as though the world were new, to a universe for which he was not created.

As I’ve argued, I believe that most of the bad in man is brought out of him by civilization itself. But is there still bad in man in the wild? Of course there is. There have been interspecies and intraspecies conflicts since there were complex species. I suppose the question is how much conflict can there be before life is judged ‘not worth living’ or the man is judge ‘inherently bad’. It does not appear that war was rampant among hunter gatherer peoples partly because there was very little provocation for war. The lands were wide and vast, the population of humans was small, and people could move to a new spot for any reason. There were no lands to defend as groups were nomadic. The life of primitive peoples can be read about in works such as Against Civilization by John Zezran. This is a passage from a letter to David Skrbina from Kaczysnki:

It would be instructive to compare the psychological state of primitive man with that of modern man, but such a comparison is difficult because, to my knowledge, there were hardly any systematic studies of psychological conditions in primitive societies prior to the time when the latter were disrupted by the intrusion of civilization. The evidence known to me is almost exclusively anecdotal and/or subjective. Osborne Russell, who lived in the Rocky Mountains in the 1830s and 1840s, wrote: “Here we found a few Snake Indians comprising 6 men 7 women and 8 or 10 children who were the only Inhabitants of this lonely and secluded spot. They were all neatly clothed in dressed deer and sheep skins of the best quality and seemed to be perfectly contented and happy … .I almost wished I could spend the remainder of my days in a place like this where happiness and contentment seemed to reign in wild romantic splendor. … ” Such impressions of very primitive peoples are not uncommon, and are worth noting. But they represent only superficial observations and almost certainly overlook interpersonal conflicts that would not be evident to a traveler merely passing through. Colin Turnbull, who studied , the Mbuti pygmies of Africa thoroughly, found plenty of quarreling and fighting among them. Nevertheless, his impression of their social and psychological life was on the whole very favorable; he apparently believed that hunter-gatherers were “untroubled by the various neuroses that accompany progress.” He also wrote that the Mbuti “were a people who had found in the forest something that made their life more than just worth living, something that made it, with all its hardships and problems and tragedies, a wonderful thing full of joy and happiness and free of care. ” Turnbull’s book Forest People has been called “romantic,” but Schebesta, who studied the Mbuti a couple of decades earlier than Turnbull, and who as far as I know has never been accused of romanticism, expressed a similar opinion of the pygmies: “How many and varied are the dangers, but also the joyous experiences, on their hunting excursions and their innumerable travels through the primeval forest!” “Thus the pygmies stand before us as one of the most natural of human races, as people who live exclusively in accord with nature and without any violation of their organism. In this they show an unusually sturdy naturalness and heartiness, an unparalleled cheerfulness and freedom from care.” This “freedom from care,” or as we would say nowadays, freedom from stress, seems to have been generally characteristic of peoples at the hunting and gathering stage or not far beyond it. Poncins’s account makes evident the absence of psychological stress among the Eskimos with whom he lived: “[The Eskimo] had proved himself stronger than the storm. Like the sailor at sea, he had met it tranquilly, it had left him unmoved … .In midtempest this peasant of the Arctic, by his total impassivity, had lent me a little of his serenity of soul.” “Of course he would not worry. He was an Eskimo.” “[My Eskimos’] minds were at rest, and they slept the sleep of the unworried.”

I believe that the natural state of man as he was crafted in the wild is that of peace, plenty, and psychological security. The state of a man who dwells in a lunar world of stone and glass for which he was not made is generally selfish, materialistic, fragile, greedy, egotistical in all the worst ways, depressed, etc. Of course, some are able to adjust and cope with the effects of modernity better than others. But it is that, coping and placation. Most of the misanthropic diagnoses made by modern people are symptoms of a technological and civil problem. However, in our societies, we have an obsession with treating symptoms and doing anything we can to avoid treating or even recognizing the underlying problem.

My late teens and early twenties have been a dark and wandering time for me. I could have easily went on wandering and continued wasting years in addictions, but somehow by the grace of God I have managed to get myself turned around and walking a good path now. I’m currently coming upon 9 months sober from opioids (and other substances). I’d love to be able to relay my addiction story and it help someone, but in truth this is not some sobriety meeting and few reading this here need to sit through the extended tales of a low-down dirty dog scrounging in the gutter spinning his wheels from one day to the next just getting by. I’d really just like to let those who read my website know that I’m alive, doing very well nowadays, and am finally getting back to a place where I can wholeheartedly engage with my passions.

I’m still pursuing homesteading and all manner of related survival and outdoors activities and I’ll be writing and posting videos to my youtube channel of what I’m up to now. One major change I have made is that I am no longer a vegan after years eating plant-based, and my diet now is composed of mostly egg, meat, and dairy. Not that anyone knew it before, my status as a vegan wasn’t something I was exactly proud of, especially in outdoors/homesteading circles. There was a time I was proud of it but that time had long passed before I even made a website. I’ve put on quite a bit of muscle mass since quitting opioids and to talk about all the changes I’ve been through would take volumes. The biggest by far is that I am actually present and sober, consciously and emotionally plugged in to what is going on around and inside me. I feel all the feelings I am supposed to feel, the difference between that, being a living human, or being a neutralized catatonic addict, is something that could never be completely spoken, let alone written and read.

I’ll stop myself before I try to paint a word-mural. I’ve been embarking back into passions that I’ve been unwilling to approach for so long. It started with guitar, and then to books and fishing, now I’m practicing photography and film once more. Feel mostly like my old sober self. I’m sure there’s parts of me I’ll never be able to get back, but I’m very blessed to have retained (most of) my cognition. There’s things I notice here and there as being scars in my mental functioning, but they are getting better every day, and if I have some that don’t heal then that is the price I pay for my actions. My writing style may be a bit different now, which will be a good thing. People told me before I came across robotic and they didn’t know that I was an opioid addict at the time but when I was told that I knew that it was at least mostly to do with my addiction. Opioid addiction completely kills your reward system, personality, feelings, emotions, you are essentially an amorphous grey blob in spirit. Might as well be a robot. Hopefully my writing will be a bit livelier, although I am a very literal person in real life and speak more formally than most, so that will remain.

Let’s turn our attention to my homesteading! I’m very excited to do some talking about my projects this year as because of aforementioned reasons I am now again able to enjoy and experience what I am doing and it is truly great. Last year I just wanted to plant every vegetable that I liked and I got overwhelmed by all of what I produced, trying to preserve it while managing addiction was very hard. This year I am focusing my goals on accomplishing the practical task of feeding myself, and so my garden this years is mostly corn and beans with some okra, squash, tomatoes, watermelon, peppers of all sorts, etc. I’d say it is about 50% beans, 40% corn, and 10% the rest. We will see if I grew enough to feed myself through the winter with the help of fish, game, and eggs, of which I am blessed with good year-round access to all. I’ve begun composting this year, and I’m glad I started because I’d be hard pressed for fertilizer otherwise.

It ought be obvious that there will be many hard times going forward. I don’t know the extent of what the destruction will be yet, but the way the world is developing can be terrifying. It is best not to let it impact you psychologically more than it needs to. Do what you can now within reason. I’ll begin publishing more of my writing on this unfolding catastrophe before us, and only the new and useful things I have to say on the topics at hand.

I would like to have posted this update in the previous months, but knocking down these walls is a process and it has happened in due time. Now that I’ve posted, you can expect regular-ish articles to be published here whenever I feel I have something to say.

Have you ever heard a variation of the following argument? ‘It doesn’t matter if we have guns to defend ourselves against the government because they have the largest, most powerful military in human history. A rifle cannot beat a tank or a drone, much less nukes.’ When I first heard this argument, I sympathized with it even though I did not agree. The popularity of this position is unsurprising given the widespread learned helplessness in most modern civilian populations. Thinking on this subject for a while, I came to a realization that should have been obvious. The most powerful military on Earth has been in Afghanistan for more than 20 years, and the Taliban controls more territory now than when the United States first got there.

The Taliban have access to more than just conventional firearms, such as RPGs and at one time having a few Stinger anti-aircraft missiles provided by the CIA during the Soviet-Afghan war, but they don’t have access to anything that most other modern guerrillas would be unable to acquire, even in the West. This author does not intend to signal ideological support for the Taliban, the Vietcong, or any other guerrilla force. However, there is much to be learned from the events of the Vietnam, Afghanistan, and other wars between powerful militaries and guerrillas. A retort is oft made that the US could defeat the Vietcong or the Taliban if they used nuclear weapons, but we are just so humane and virtuous that we decide not to. Come on, we’ve got one hand tied behind our back!

Obviously it is not some benevolent humanitarianism that prevents the United States from dropping nuclear weapons in Afghanistan, or prevented them from doing so in Vietnam. After the initial debut of nuclear weapons in Japan and the subsequent proliferation of those weapons to multiple different states, explicit international agreements and implicit understandings of repercussions regarding the use of nuclear weapons in warfare were developed. There would be grave consequences to pay from other nations in the event of a nuclear strike. It is much more advantageous for self-preservation to fight a conventional war that isn’t going to provoke other powerful states such as China, Russia, European nations, et cetera into retaliation. The United States could perhaps defeat a guerrilla force using nuclear weapons in a very particular scenario, but even then its not entirely certain. It would be like playing wack-a-mole with insurgents. There would be no advantage to nuking the surface of the mountains where the Taliban hide in their cave networks, and the detriment to American ground forces following the fallout of an attack would do even more harm.

Many different rules apply to domestic guerrilla warfare. The devastation to critical production infrastructure, workforce and administration population, climate and environmental resources, et cetera that follows domestic use of nuclear weapons essentially guarantees they will not be used against domestic guerrillas. When hypothesizing about a situation of domestic warfare in which people fight against the federal state, it is often thought of by your ‘average citizens’ as some sort of second American Revolution in which the proud patriots stand up to restore their beautiful federal government from the tyrants. Among the contemporary proud patriots, the Gadsden Flag, or ‘Don’t Tread on Me’, is unironically (but very ironically) flown next to the ‘Thin Blue Line’ flag. Those watching with open eyes can see that Americans have been tread on over and over and over again with little to no proud patriots standing up. The change is too gradual most of the time, and even when it is sudden, people are kept too comfortable to actually do anything about their supposed convictions. The line in the sand for these people is apparently an infringement of the second amendment, but infringing on all the others warrants barely as much as a flinch, such as the fourth amendment (protection from unreasonable search and seizure) being completely destroyed by the hilariously named USA PATRIOT ACT which allows the federal government to spy on all citizens with no limits. I even have my doubts about the ‘proud patriots’ standing up to further infringement on their ‘rights’, even the second amendment, perhaps say for some shootouts mostly devoid of military strategy and tactic.

I mention all of this not to therapeutically lambast average citizens for the sake of my own frustrations, but to distinguish that I am not discussing some second American Revolution. It can be inferred from the theme of my blog that I have in mind an anti-industrialist insurgency or military units. However, the type or ideology of militia is not particularly as important as the method of warfare. Just as we have much to learn from previous revolutions regardless of the ideologies of the revolutionaries, we also have much to learn about warfare regardless of the ideology of the military groups we study. It is not only important for anti-industrialists, but all modern peoples to be educated in the art of warfare in the case that waging war is necessary. Warfare is not romantic nor glorious, but there are times when war must be waged. I should also add that not everyone is fit to fight wars, that much is evident and is okay. Tacticians, strategists, medics, suppliers, et cetera are all crucial to the success of an armed force. This article is not intended to be completely American-centric; however, the USA provides the best example of an incredibly powerful military being stalled and thwarted by relatively meager guerrilla fighters. Let us define ‘guerrilla’. From Britannica:

Guerrilla warfare, also spelled guerilla warfare, is a type of warfare fought by irregulars in fast-moving, small-scale actions against orthodox military and police forces and, on occasion, against rival insurgent forces, either independently or in conjunction with a larger political-military strategy. The word guerrilla (the diminutive of Spanish guerra, “war”) stems from the duke of Wellington’s campaigns during the Peninsular War (1808–14), in which Spanish and Portuguese irregulars, or guerrilleros, helped drive the French from the Iberian Peninsula. Over the centuries the practitioners of guerrilla warfare have been called rebels, irregulars, insurgents, partisans, and mercenaries. Frustrated military commanders have consistently damned them as barbarians, savages, terrorists, brigands, outlaws, and bandits.

The history of the use of guerilla warfare is wide and successful. It is thought to have first been described by Sun Tzu in his work The Art of War, but there there is a consensus that guerrilla warfare is the default way of waging war for prehistoric and ancient people. Fidel Castro described it as ‘the oldest form of human resistance’. The first signs of the use of conventional warfare appeared in Egypt during the first dynasty of the old kingdom around 3100 BC. Since then, complex strategy, tactics, structure, technology, and formation have been developed for waging war. Even so, advanced, well-funded, and powerful militaries with the full backing of the state have been frustrated and defeated time and again not with an equally powerful or wealthy military, but with clever guerrilla warfare. The first widely documented case of guerrilla tactics being successfully employed to rout a conventional military was by Quintus Fabius Maximus Verrucosus in the 3rd century BC. The great and intelligent Hannibal of Carthage had just crossed the Alps with an army that included 37 elephants, truly an incredible feat. After Hannibal had inflicted several crushing defeats on the Romans in their homeland, Fabius Maximus was appointed dictator and employed military practices that would earn him the title of ‘the father of gerrilla warfare’. He engaged in many actions that have become hallmarks of the guerrilla, waging a war of attrition with mobile skirmishes that would dedicate to no direct battle. He set out to starve Hannibal’s men by using his skirmishers to harass the Carthaginians and prevent them from foraging and hunting for food, ultimately disabling Hannibal’s army from besieging Rome and making them retreat.

I can describe many more historical examples of the success of guerrilla tacts, even by those not employed in a proper military state like the Romans were, such as the conflict between the Portuguese and Spanish citizens against Napoleon’s occupying army. Through guerrilla tactics, they were able to drive out the army of one of the most powerful military leaders in history. The inability of the United States to overcome the Vietcong is generally well understood by most students of history, but many will still make excuses for why victory was not reached, such as that the American people and army were demoralized. That is one of the objectives of guerrilla warfare, and in that end the Vietcong were victorious over the Americans. However, guerrilla warfare is not some magic bullet that kills empires without serious thought, preparation, leadership, environment, execution, and intelligence.

If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.

The Art of War – Sun Tzu

An example of the success of guerrilla warfare that is particularly fascinating to this writer and that has much to teach us is the contemporary condition of the war waged against the Taliban by the United States military in Afghanistan. Almost every war the US has waged since WWII has been against non-state insurgents, yet they continue to be stalled by this asymmetrical warfare. Just a decade before invading Afghanistan, the US had crushed the fourth largest standing army in the world at the time in Iraq. While early success seemed promising against the Taliban, the same problem that had choked the Soviets set on the Americans. The Taliban retreated into the mountains and in their cave networks. Both the US and USSR were shooting rocks and dirt from helicopters, but could not smoke out the Taliban. Dominic Tierney, a political scientist, noted, “We have the power. They have the willpower.” America continues to be ineffective in the field of counterinsurgency and does its best to avoid having to engage in it, and in Afghanistan that is all that they are having to face, an effective and passionate Taliban fighting from their homeland, denying direct battles, inflicting damage when they can, and smothering moral of the occupiers. An objection might be made in this situation that guerrilla warfare does not win wars, it only prevents the other side from winning. However, this is a faulty understand of what ‘winning a war’ really means. What else does winning a war mean other than preventing the opposition from conquering you? Even if you don’t conquer them by crushing all of the enemy, you have stilled conquered them by forcing their resignation.

This is where conventional warfare comes back into the picture. It is not certain that a guerrilla force can offensively invade and defeat a defending army, though this may be possible under the right circumstances. Nonetheless, this is not a single magic bullet and a total alternative to all engagements of war. To guard the possibility of success, it is only competent to be prepared to wage conventional warfare and to do so with sophisticated capability. Let us return to a hypothetical American domestic situation. Guerrilla strategies and tactics have proved to be quite successful even when the state and its army are in their homeland, such as when Castro and Guevara’s insurgents, sometimes with fewer than 200 men, defeated Batista’s army of 30,000-40,000 soldiers.

As with any historical event to be learned from, for the most part you cannot just say ‘they did this here so we shall do this here and succeed also’. Individual circumstances prevent hegemony in routes to victory. Even so, a general picture of what does and does not make a movement successful can be painted which is of great utility to the student of history. This applies also to revolution as a whole, of which warfare is only one factor of many, and there are many, many revolutions in history to be learned from and the circumstances of their success to be understood.

I grew up in a Free Holiness family in North Alabama. Both of my parents had the Holy Ghost when I was born and it was all I ever knew until I went to public school, where I discovered that other denominations exist. For a period of time after this revelation, I still believed that everyone must be either Holiness or Baptist.

Free Holiness is a Pentecostal denomination of Christianity which is local to Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, but also has some churches ranging from Kentucky to Florida, and perhaps some other states I’m not aware of. It shares many commonalities with other Pentecostals in general, but is unique in a number of very significant ways. A common characteristic of all Pentecostals, in the very name, is the event known as Pentecost and the poorly understood phenomenon of speaking in tongues. In these churches, a person receives the Holy Ghost (the Holy Spirit, i.e. salvation) with the sign of speaking in tongues. This is proof to those around you that you did in fact just receive it. Speaking in tongues can also occur after the event of salvation while having an ecstatic religious experience, such as shouting around in church or even private prayer in the closet.

A significant factor motivating my writing of this article is the fact that Free Holiness has a very small online footprint. Besides their website, it is very difficult to find anyone talking about this denomination online. I have come across a few people who seem to be talking about it, but rarely is it made concrete that it is Free Holiness being discussed. One solid reference point is this articlefrom a website called Sacramento Present Truths in 2013, wherein the second section of the article specifically discusses this denomination I grew up in and even provides a picture of Higdon Free Holiness Church, which is supposed to have been the first established church in this region. There is a short video of what appears to be a social media ‘reel’ of John Crist visiting Sequatchie Valley Free Holiness Church in Tennessee. There are plenty of different Pentecostal and Holiness denominations, as well as online personalities who discuss being in/leaving them (such as the website and YouTube channel of Berean Holiness), almost all of them either Christians or typical atheist types. I believe that Free Holiness distinguishes itself enough to warrant being identified, outlined, and analyzed for the sake of a better public understanding and so that those familiar with or who grew up in this church can finally read a shared experience of someone who left. I will not be reiterating the technical history of the church, as their official website does a fine enough job outlining that. This is not particularly necessary anyway as the church and this style of charismatic Christianity is relatively young. There had been Quakers since the days of Royal Colonial rule, and ecstatic experiences developing from Weslyian and Methodist groups throughout the 19th century, but tongues speaking can only be pinned down to an origin in the first decade of the 20th century. Many cite the ‘Azusa Street Revival’, which funnily enough took place in Los Angeles, California in 1906, as the start. Of course, it is quite possible that there were unrecorded experiences and practices of this sort for some number of years prior to this event before this style of ecstatic worship broke onto the scene in a public manner at this event.

Doctrines, Beliefs, and Standards

In Free Holiness, it is believed that you can only get the Holy Ghost one time. Jesus only died on the cross once for us, so we can only die to ourselves once – or so it goes. This is coupled with the fact that they believe in ‘entire sanctification’ and ‘Christian perfection’, and thus after receiving the big HG you will not sin again, or more like you cannot if you want to keep your salvation. If you do willingly and knowingly sin again, you lose the Holy Ghost and cannot ever get it back. For this reason, as well as ‘speaking in tongues’ and overblown/fabricated stories of ‘snake handling’, many outsiders see this sect as extreme, and it receives the accusation of being a cult. Snake handling has been a practice taking place in the church house in other Pentecostal denominations, but the extent of snake handling in Free Holiness appears to be testimonies of the Lord letting people handle a snake in the woods when they prayed about it. This was more common, but still rare, in the 20th century and does not really take place today. Regarding the church members who have the Holy Ghost, commonly known as the ‘Children of God’, there is to the public a very false perception of asceticism, yet the true ridiculousness of that image is known only to those who grew up on the inside.

Tongues

Speaking in tongues is a fundamental part of the Holiness belief system. It is the only way you can be recognized as saved. A strong distinction needs to be made between the common gibberish nonsense words you may have seen on TV and what happens in the Free Holiness churches. When someone with the Holy Ghost speaks in tongues, it is a repetition of a few sounds, usually one consonant and one vowel, e.g. ‘eee nanananan’ or ‘lalalala’ or some variation. They do not make up a language, e.g. ‘sim bo lak ti mah far di po ner mick’. They exhibit this form of glossolalia, a concept whose basis in the scripture we will cover in the following paragraphs. This is a topic that very few people understand or even think can be understood. To those within the church it is an undeniable proof that this is real and Holiness is Right. To those without, it is insanity, drunkenness, demonic possession, or just suggestive mass psychosis of some sort. Let’s start off by saying that speaking in tongues is a completely genuine and real experience (although there are known to be some fakers) which is ineffably profound to the tongue speaker.

Glossolalia, or speaking in tongues, is not exclusive to Free Holiness, of course. Pentecostals of many stripes experience this, as well as other protestant denominations, and has been known in limited examples in Catholic and Orthodox groups, though apparently not until after the American phenomenon came onto the scene. Regarding the other denominations who speak in tongues, they will say that the others have ‘weird spirits’ or demons. It is also not exclusive to Christianity, as there are some rare examples of American Indian tribal religions having these kinds of experiences. It can also be exhibited in a (somewhat) non-religious context, such as the well established record of people experiencing glossolalia during intense psychedelic mushroom experiences, and has been reported on Ayahuasca, DMT, and I’m sure others as well. These are incredibly intense spiritual experiences, and so there is obviously some physiological function where an intense and ecstatic experience can make one lose control over their motor functions and triggers something in the language/speech part of the brain. I do not mean to examine this from a purely scientific, materialist, or rationalist viewpoint, as I do believe there are genuine spiritual forces at play here. I do believe that Holiness people are actually worshiping an entity known as Yahweh and that this worship does actually channel these feelings to the members, aside from a purely psychologically intense experience. The two aspects are not exclusive to one another, however.

The Free Holiness understanding of speaking in tongues comes from the contents of the second chapter of Acts. In it is described the day of ‘Pentecost’ (the 50th day after the Jewish Passover, so approximately 50 days after when Jesus was crucified according to the Gospels) where the Holy Ghost made its first appearance to many people gathered there.

1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
<br>2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
<br>3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
<br>4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
<br>5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
<br>6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
<br>7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
<br>8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
<br>

Particularly important is the 3rd verse, ‘there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire’. The imagery is clear, but there is another important part in verses 6-7, where despite all present speaking different languages, they were able to understand what was being said. This is a debate in Christianity about what is actually happening here, whether it is glossolalia (language in the absence of meaning) or xenoglossia (speaking/understanding a language that one does not know). It is not explicitly said in verse 3 that the cloven tongues are glossolalia, but if you’ve ever seen a Holiness person speak in tongues you can see how this could be what is suggested. The xenoglossia in the following verses is undeniable. As well, there is tongues speaking described by Paul in 1 Corinthians 14 where someone does speak in an ‘angelic language’ but another church member should interpret these tongues. He even comments that it profits none to speak in tongues without someone to interpret what is being said. If this was supposed to be the way things were, if this was the main sign of salvation, you would think that it would be made explicitly crystal clear. In fact, the entire paradigm believed by Holiness, their view of being lost, getting called to go to the altar, being condemned, speaking in tongues, shouting around, etc, is not explicitly laid out in the scripture, it is deduced by inferring from many different books and chapters. Of course, this is what most other Christians do too, because the New Testament is really not clear about what Christianity is supposed to look like in this regard.

A curiosity regarding their belief that everyone must speak in tongues is what is said by Rabbi Shaul of Tarsis, known by his ‘gentile’ name Paul, in 1 Corinthians Chapter 12:

27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
<br>28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
<br>29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
<br>30 Have all the gifts of healing? <strong><em>do all speak with tongues?</em></strong> do all interpret?
<br>31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

The obvious implied answer to all the questions posed in verses 29 and 30 is no. Not all are apostles, not all are prophets, not all are teachers, not all work miracles, not all have the gift of healing, and not all speak with tongues. Yet, Free Holiness teaches that all (are supposed to) speak with tongues. This leads me to a theory I have about glossolalia, which is that there is a gradient of sensitivity for being able to exhibit it. For some people, they have a very low threshold of ecstasy to speak in tongues. These might be those that speak in tongues almost as soon as they hit the floor the first time they go to the altar, and who likewise speak in tongues every time they testify in church. There is another segment of people who have a higher threshold, and some have a threshold so high that is truly takes some other worldly levels of spiritual experience to be able to speak in tongues, and some of these rarely if ever speak in tongues again for the rest of their lives. Then there is some segment of the population that is not able to speak in tongues at all, their brain or body just isn’t wired that way. As is the case with so many other physical phenomenon that some people can do easy, others find more difficult, and others can not at all. Another factor in the levels of spiritual ecstasy that one can experience is how much ‘blind’ faith they have in the experience. Many people who get ‘stuck’ in the altar and cannot receive the Holy Ghost are those that are more aware about the experience, some that ‘know too much’, have had any doubts whatsoever at any point, all of these create an inhibition to being able to give oneself over completely to the experience.

Laying of Hands

During any given church service, most of the Children of God will spend a lot of time with their hands raised in the air, particularly once the service really gets moving, once a song brings a good feeling or the testimonies start. They are feeling the power of God, hands raised to the sky as if to receive his power like an antenna. These hands are shaking, sometimes violently, as the power of god courses through them. Officially, they are not the ones moving their hands, it is purely the power causing the shaking without any input from the person. The Children of God have a practice called ‘laying of hands’ where they will walk to someone, led by the spirit, and lay their shaking hand on their forehead, top of their head, side, etc. This is supposed to bless the recipient somehow, think of transferring power from the hand of the layer onto the layee. For example, someone who is sick can get hands laid on them in hopes of getting better, or someone who is lost will get hands laid on them. It is commonly known as the Lord ‘looking at you’ if you receive hands. An advanced form of this is anointing of oil, typically done by a preacher, where some kind of oil is applied to the hand before it is laid on someone. This is an extra special blessing, an extra special ‘getting looked at’.

Miracles

Healing and miracles are so very dear to the Free Holiness movement and are perhaps the strongest proof for those within the church that their way is the right way. Disregard the fact that many other denominations apparently have so many likewise amazing miracles. There is a perfectly sensible question in how these miracles, which I fully admit to and can appreciate the profundity of, can happen if Holiness is not the true way, or perhaps at the very least Christianity is not the true way. Let’s try and understand how and why miracles happen. The scientific rationalist may say that it is pure chance, that miracles are bound to happen sometimes. Besides, what about all the times that people desperately pray en masse for an outcome, such as a loved one not dying, and the miracle does not happen? And what about the apparent curses and sheer lack of mercy like the Christian girls camp in Texas being flash flooded and all those white girls being drowned to death? People will praise god for one person surviving, but will never take into account the fact that this was permitted to happen in the first place. God is the author of all things, after all. However, I am not a scientific rationalist, and I do earnestly believe that people can petition the gods and the metaphysical realms for outcomes in life. Jacques Ellul (a Christian theologian) argued in his 1954 book The Technological Society that magic was the very first form of technique, and of technology, of human beings directing their will to affect outcomes in the natural world. There is an argument that the very act of people praying as a group, or even as an individual, and directing their will and energy towards a certain goal can affect change. Some would call this ‘manifestation’, which is a term with a lot of cooky baggage, but there is certainly something to it. Very few people would deny the existence of synchronicities, of people both happening to think of each other and call one another at the same time after not speaking for years, of premonition dreams and of impossible wishes that seemed to magically come true.

After all, consciousness is the substrate of existence, of creation. The Christian and the Heathen would agree on this. Mind did not arise from matter, but matter arose from mind. We would both agree that we have a spark of the divine in us, of that which constructed creation, that we are in the image of the Almighty. We have the ability to have our prayers heard at the throne, at the highest levels of the heavens. As I said, I do believe that Yahweh probably exists as an entity, and he is being worshiped. The ancient Greeks believed that people and the gods had a sort of symbiotic relationship, with human devotion, veneration, and particularly sacrifice providing pnuema, or spiritual energy of life, to the gods. In return the gods can affect this world, hopefully in our favor. Pnuema is the root of words like pnuematic, and means ‘breath, spirit, or wind’, like the Genesis story tells us that Yahweh breathed life into Adam. In my perspective I do see Yahweh as a sort of chaos demon who is ultimately malicious but may cause favorable outcomes for his devotees. Yahweh’s ultimate goal outlined in the Torah is for his chosen people to rule and reign over the Earth with their Messiah and for all the goyim (gentiles) to bury their idols and worship the one ‘true’ god. He is a very jealous god, much like the character of his ‘chosen people’. So, if gentiles are worshiping him as such to prepare the way for his world ruler to come, then why wouldn’t he provide for them sometimes? This ties in with manifestation as some have argued that the gods are concentrations of will and energy of a people group, such as Mars being the marshal will of the Roman people. So perhaps some of this is manifestation, some is intervention by the gods, or it could be that the two are more intertwined than we understand and overlap. This line of argumentation may be getting off in the weeds for some, but I’m leaving my perspective on this here for the record. The reader is free to believe whatever they wish regarding if Yahweh may or may not exist and if miracles are tied in with developments in the metaphysical realm.

Structure of a Free Holiness Service

Any given meeting at the Free Holiness church house reliably starts with some welcoming words from the preacher followed by singing a few songs to get the service going. The singing is a good way to ease people into the worshiping headspace, with their minds on heaven and the power of music they get in the mood to have spiritual experiences and intense feelings. This helps to spur someone to really get the service going by testifying and shouting around in the power. Testimonials are often the bulk of a church service, and one after another Children of God volunteer to testify and praise god, usually walking around with their hands raised, shaking, laying hands or having hands laid on them, some speaking in tongues, until they end the testimony and return to where they were. If someone gets really high on this they call it ‘getting a blessing’ and they can fall out in the floor, shaking and yelling. When this happens the rest of the Children of God will form a circle around that person and shout as well, praising god and raising their hands. The testimonies may be broken up by the occasional song, which likewise may be accompanied by someone feeling the power, walking around and shouting, raising hands, laying hands.

After the testimonies, or even between two segments of testimony periods, the preacher will usually deliver his sermon and read from the Bible. This is not like a typical Protestant, Catholic, or Orthodox sermon where a carefully prepared lecture is delivered quite matter-of-factly. The Holiness preacher claims to be led purely by the spirit of what to say, what to preach on, and what to read from the scriptures. It is usually very passionate, with lots of shouting and laying of hands, although it can be more reserved depending on how ‘on fire’ the service is. The preacher may preach to the Children of God and/or to the ‘lost’ in the back of the house, hopefully getting some lost person to finally make their way to the altar and try to receive the Holy Ghost, or to help and condemn the people already going to the altar. The meeting is then concluded by the altar call, where everyone stands, a song is sung, and the lost people get on their knees in the altar and pray for the Holy Ghost. The lost will commonly raise their hands and say ‘glory glory glory glory…’. Some pray for just a few minutes before getting up, some can pray for 30 minutes, an hour, two hours, depending on how dedicated they are and how ‘close’ they get to receiving it. There are those who get the Holy Ghost the first time they go, others it takes weeks or months or years, and for some it takes decades of going to the altar, even half a century or more. In rare cases a lost person can go to the altar every church service for their entire life and die without the Holy Ghost. Even so, without fail when any of these people finally receive the Holy Ghost, no matter how long they went to the altar, they will all say ‘It was so easy, it is the easiest thing in the world!’

When the lost are praying in the altar, people will gather around them and pray for them, shouting, raising hands, etc. If someone is doing ‘really good’ they will probably get more people gathered around them than the ones who are seemingly making little progress. When a lost person who is doing good is still struggling to actually get the Holy Ghost, they will be stopped by someone around them and given some kind of sage advice on how to let go and give themselves over to god. This usually consists of some variation of ‘You just have to believe he’ll do what he said he’ll do, just believe him!’. They may go back to praying, stall out, get advice, and repeat this cycle many times during a prolonged Holy Ghost attempt.

Standards

The personal standards for members of the church are shared with other fundamentalist sects. In Free Holiness, women cannot cut their hair, they cannot wear pants and must wear skirts, they must dress modestly (although this standard keeps evolving to bend the rules more and more, whereas skirts used to have to go down to the floor, they can now pass as long as they are just below the knees), it used to be that women couldn’t wear jewelry (this standard is also now being rolled back, but they still cannot have earrings or other piercings), women cannot wear makeup (although many now wear concealer, foundation, or clear mascara whereas this would have been unacceptable a couple decades ago). Men must wear pants (no shorts), must keep their hair cut short (above the eyebrows and preferably higher), must likewise dress modestly (no tank tops/sleeveless shirts showing shoulders), and men cannot grow facial hair. This last standard for the men is especially hilarious considering that many of the founders of the Free Holiness movement had beards and mustaches. The New Testament makes zero mention or recommendation about men’s facial hair and the Old Testament actually commands (Jewish) men to have an untrimmed beard. I have asked plenty of people in the church about this standard and no one can give anything approaching even a poor answer to the question. When pressed, at the end they will relent ‘If its our tradition then why can’t you just obey? Are you vain and caring about what you want instead of what God wants?’ This tradition seems to have started around the late 50s or early 60s. A speculative reason I’ve heard is that it was to differentiate Holiness men from the hippies of that era who had beards, but who knows? Whatever the reason, Yahweh apparently gave a preacher the feeling to preach that at some point, and Holiness preachers are basically Apostles who can set new standards if they are ‘led by the spirit’.

The Holiness Church Following ‘Progress’

As you can tell by the caveats and clarifications of the changing standards I just described, the Holiness churches are experiencing a phenomenon common to all other groups in our progressive, liberal society: the ratchet effect. Conservatism at large has been pulled in this manner for decades, they have their values subverted and relent to go along with the apparent progress in society but always want things to go back to the way they were 30 years ago. The conservatives of today are last generation’s liberals. Every clink of the turning ratchet cannot be undone; once they make any move in the direction of ‘progress’, they are there to stay, and a new line is then drawn to defend – that is, until inevitably their values are dragged left once again by the changing society. And how could it be otherwise? Each generation’s children is increasingly assaulted and groomed with ever more sophisticated means of subversion, indoctrination, and propaganda. No one, not even these ‘fundamentalist’ Holiness people, have the guts, the backbone, or simply the understanding to actually keep their children from the myriad vectors of influence which surround us in this age. Thus, the skirts shrank slowly, and once a few people broke the standard, whilst still shouting around in church and being recognized as still having the Holy Ghost, then it couldn’t be effectively combated or reversed by the leadership.

Free Holiness people see themselves as separate from all the ‘worldly’ people who don’t have the Holy Ghost. However, they still have no problems watching whatever poisonous subversive (Jewish) Hollywood movies and shows that get pumped out to the masses, scrolling and posting on vain social media, listening to whatever toxic and degenerate worldly music they please, participating in electoral politics and supporting whatever evil traitorous puppets available – essentially whatever they want as long as they obey most of the standards. Young Holiness boys and girls everywhere listen to tons of black thug, drugs, and sex rap ‘music’. Let’s circle back to the false perception of Holy Ghosters as ascetics. Many see them as some sort of monks, denying the self and the sinful temptations of the world through extreme dedication and the grace of Jesus, or God, or the Holy Ghost, or all three (I mean one?), they manage to maintain their Christian Perfection. ‘Oh I just don’t think I could live it’ says the Baptist down the road from the Holiness Church. However, as I just mentioned, Holiness people can indulge in whatever toxic sludge they wish to as long as they publicly obey the big standards.

Upon this topic rests one of the biggest bombshells for me that shattered any perception I once held of Holiness people being serious or respectable in their beliefs in any way: the men can watch porn. Yes, you read that correctly. Apparently, porn is not bad enough to be considered a sin. This blew my mind, because even as a kid and as an atheist teenager I knew that pornography was wrong and evil without having to be told so. It is obvious to most except those truly desensitized by exposure or hedonistic nihilism that it is a horrible toxic evil filthy subversive (Jewish) poison on our society that has wrought untold destruction and degeneracy, destroying the minds and bodies of young men and women and smashing beyond repair any normal or natural conception of the divine love that is supposed to be sex between a man and his wife. I have word from the inside from a young fellow with the Holy Ghost that all of his Holy Ghosted friends watch porn, and he doesn’t think it is an issue. Unsurprisingly, he and his wife have issues in the bedroom, which likely further drives his consumption. I’m sure this progressed slowly just like the skirts shrinking, at first a few men got sucked into the extreme drug-like powers of pornography but still had the Holy Ghost, rationalizing why its not actually bad or sinful to do so in a number of ways. Once that precedent was established, the new line was drawn. This is such a low bar that even some atheists can admit that watching porn is cheating on your wife. If nothing else, it is looking on a woman with lust. I beseech ye, brethren, is adultery not a sin?

‘But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.’

Matthew 5:28

Given that these are fundamentalist conservative Christians, you might think that they may be at least marginally better on the issue of race and the preservation thereof, but unfortunately like every other Christian, they are complete race traitors. Without a second thought they would rather have their beautiful white daughter marry a Christian negro than to marry a white Heathen. The Free Holiness church is now beginning to have increased outside racial admixture. There are some blacks and mulattos, and after WWII there were some Holiness men that took Japanese wives upon returning home, but the biggest foreign cohort which are now so readily accepted, celebrated, and mixed into their families are Mexicans. Holiness girls have birthed a number of mixed race children in the past decade. Of course, it is mostly the girls marrying men of other races, the white men in the church apparently don’t have much of an interest in black or Mexican girls. Sadly, plenty of these girls are victims of an all-encompassing decades-long cultural saturation of propaganda designed to promote and encourage race-mixing among whites, to paint our mixing-out as cool, modern, enlightened, and just.

Many readers may gasp at this point, being conditioned by modern liberal values of racial universalism (which ultimately comes from Christianity, liberalism is just secularized Christian values), and young whites being made to believe that the white race is evil or that any desire to preserve it is likewise abhorrent. Face your racial destruction if you wish. Besides, why does it matter if we are destroyed, Jesus is coming back soon, so we have already won. We don’t have to do anything. Don’t mind the racial destruction wrought upon us by millions of Africans, Muslims, and Mexicans being flooded in our nations (by Jewish forces lobbying for open borders, propagandizing for this cause by media power, and directly helping these people get here with NGOs like the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society or Isra-Aid). No need to worry though, the book they gave us says we are actually winning when we lose.

I would like to end this article by looking at the direction that the younger generation in the Free Holiness church is heading. Just as we discussed, they are becoming more and more liberal in many ways. However, they are also evolving in how much they actually hold the Free Holiness doctrine as completely true and as it appears. I have learned from speaking to Millennials and Gen Z members that there are several of them who know far more than they are supposed to. One young woman with the Holy Ghost said something to me which made it clear that she knows there are many problems with the church, the doctrine, and she even admitted that there is no evidence that Jesus actually even existed as a real person. Yet, she still has the Holy Ghost, still shouts around in church. Another young woman with the Holy Ghost in High School was engaged in a lesbian relationship, and knowingly broke several cosmetic standards, yet she still officially had the Holy Ghost and shouted around in church. Several young members have engaged in sexual relationships before marriage, even with other members who they were not dating, yet they kept the Holy Ghost. Because there are so many young people who grew up in church that never go to the altar and end up leaving the church, it seems that they cannot afford to declare that a member doesn’t have the Holy Ghost anymore unless they absolutely have to. Preaching saying this message has been sounded in many churches in the last decade, whereas in the past these infringers would have readily received a vote of no confidence from the church elders.

For these young people who know too much about the church and even realize things aren’t as they seem, yet choose to remain in the church anyway, they are quite understandably remaining in the place that they grew up in and fit in. No need to rock the boat, they have a community they belong to and works for them. The high from shouting and running around in church is a nice bonus. Some have even faked speaking in tongues to join the Holy Ghosters in the congregation. It isn’t really that hard to say ‘eee nananana’ anyway, as long as you can do it without laughing. Who actually knows how many members have done this, more or less consciously, and then do their best to forget about it and live their Holy Ghost life? A few years ago I was at a ‘regular meeting’ church service where the altar call was going on for 2 hours and people were waiting to eat the dinner prepared. One of the people waiting outside said ‘Go in there and tell them to either make it or fake it!’.

So, what would my desired outcome be? For all the Free Holiness churches to clear out and all the members stop believing? Certainly not. Holiness clearly does a lot of good for a lot of people in providing a moral structure. It does a lot of damage too, however. Being good because you are scared of burning forever or simply in hope of eternal paradise is not a true basis for morality. When Christians stop believing with no coherent worldview to take its place, many of them dive into nihilistic hedonism and degeneracy, into abject and apathetic atheism. They lose their foundation and are sunk into the poisons of our modern liberal society. There is the phenomenon of the preacher’s son or daughter, where when they come of age they rebel and dive off the deep end because they have felt repressed and want to taste the taboo fruits. Some Christians will say, ‘why not just rape and kill if you don’t believe in hell?’. This thinking clearly demonstrates a lack of true ethical understanding, why we ought to be good instead of bad. The damage Christianity does to us as a people is hard to overstate, giving so much power and reverence to the Jews as chosen, to their god, and to their ethno-religious vision for the Messianic world order where a Jew will rule the world. The damage it has done to us by deracinating and corroding our self-preservation instinct with the lie of racial universalism, leading to the present sorry state we are now in. Undermining the family and sabotaging our loyalty to our people above all else. If we are ever going to survive as a race and defeat the international conspiracy arrayed against us, we will have to go the way of Julian the Great, known to Christians as Julian the Apostate, and return to our native ethnic gods, the gods of our fathers and mothers, our own religion and philosophy which is far greater, more beautiful, more moral, more sophisticated, more thorough, more objective, and truer than anything that came out of the Abrahamic Semitic Yahweh cult. I truly believe that there will be in this 21st century a great Heathen revival and a righteous rejection of Jewish religion.

As you can tell, I am not a Christian. I see Christianity as a Jewish deception on the gentile world to get them to worship the Jewish god and facilitate their vision for their global rule from Jerusalem. To neuter, to neutralize the big bad pagan Gentiles which historically dominated them. They could not win on the battlefield and so in order to survive and achieve their goals, they had to turn to the pen, to rhetoric, to storytelling and propaganda, and while the insurrectionist movement of the first century was never able to conquer Rome militarily (rather was ruthlessly crushed and their temple destroyed by Titus the Great), the works of high level Pharisees and Rabbis such as Shimone Peter and Shaul of Tarsis, with the blessing of the Sanhedrin top sage Gamaliel, became the ultimate weapon against the Romans. It may have taken three centuries, but in the end they did conquer the mighty Roman Empire when after all Constantine the ‘Great’ made Christianity the official religion of the Empire. The proud Romans buried their idols and worshiped the god of Israel, outlawing their ethnic religions and persecuting anyone who refused to bow the knee to the king of the Jews.

My disbelief in the Free Holiness church is a source of needless tension between my family and I. Their belief that I am going to burn forever in magic lava because I won’t go down there and speak in tongues, then run around the church house shouting like a fool, is a source of such unnecessary raw, visceral grief for them. They have no idea what I truly believe, they do not know that I have taken within myself the spirit of my fathers who are long time gone. I have embraced and come to revere the gods of my ancestors, our own native racial culture before the foreign Semitic disease invaded by the tip of the sword our white homelands and convinced our children that we worshiped demons and fallen angels. That us stupid gentile dogs were lost before we knew the King of the Jews, that we were nothing before Yahweh and Rabbi Jesus decided to graft us in to the Jewish tree. For any Christians, Holiness members, ex-members, or the like who have completed this article, do not take my words as unnecessary abrasion or snark. I would like for you to see that we face very real and fatal threats, and that no Rabbi is coming to save us from them.

The Bible is the Blueprint for the New World Order

‘They want a one world government and a one world religion.‘ This is what I heard about the end times and the coming world order from my church and family growing up. Any normal person wants to oppose this vision of the future… that is, of course, unless it is the one world government of the Jewish messiah Jesus ruling the world from Jerusalem and the one world religion where every knee shall bow and every tongue confess the King of the Jews. So based, right?

The entire goal of Judaism and the Torah is world domination, the entire world worshiping the one god of Israel and bowing down to the messiah, king of the world. In ‘based’ right-wing online circles, an increasing number of people are ‘Jew wise’. They recognize Jewish power, see their desire for dominion over the nations, and their exploitation of our nations for war and finance.

Our people are yearning for a return to something we lost, a return to tradition, of what worked before all this modern materialistic atheist gay tranny insanity took over. You cannot blame them for looking to Christianity. Before the stalwart grip of the Christian religion loosened as of the last century or two, there were based crusaders, manly men, natural women dressing modestly, and a more or less clear reason to live and be moral. As many of these Christians ‘wake up’ to the Jewish problem, they must make their new perspective on Jews fit in to their all-encompassing Christian worldview. For them it is the ultimate dilemma and cognitive dissonance: the people who are apparently the enemy of mankind are actually the chosen people of the one true god, they are his treasured possession, the apple of his eye, who have an everlasting covenant with him. The only way to solve the Jewish problem is… by worshiping a Jewish man as God? Besides, the Jews killed Jesus! It all fits together, they are His antithesis.

Let’s take a step back and recognize for a second the severe discord in thinking that the only way to oppose ‘the Jews’ is to worship their god and their messiah. This is essentially the main objective of Judaism, for all the gentiles to bury their idols, abandon their ancestral gods, and worship the one true ‘god’ of Israel. To accept that the one god of the universe chose the Jews and gave Moses the Torah at Sinai. You’re not owning them by doing exactly what their religion calls for in the end, and the Jews don’t really hate Christianity or Jesus the way you think they do. Ben Shapiro and Dennis Prager are some of the biggest promoters of Christianity in America, with Prager saying that it is because Christians brought the world to the Torah more than Jews did.

There is a worm embedded in Christian thought, that of an attraction to inversion.

‘Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.’ 1 Cor 3:18

‘But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong’ 1 Cor 1:27

Because all this seems so insane, it is all the more reason that the Christian would like to believe it. It is the ultimate irony in the plot of this divine drama (or perhaps Jewish superhero movie?). This is sown from the structure of the parables attributed to Rabbi Yeshua, but more importantly is said repeatedly by Rabbi Shaul of Tarsis (Paul). To an outside observer, the severe contradictions in being an antisemitic Christian would suggest fundamental problems with the worldview and the story. However, to a Christian who has been trained to love inversions and bury logic, the conflicts of reason and values are even more of a reason to believe it because…. well of course God made it that nonsensical seeming! That way only the truly pious would be able to turn off their brain and believe the writings of Yahweh’s chosen people. I even had the thought at one point when I was a Christian, just before I admitted that I couldn’t believe it any more, ‘of course God makes the truth seem nonsensical for his divine purpose, the devil has co-opted logic’. Millions of Christians, or the ones who at least try to analyze their religion critically at some point, cope to themselves with similar thoughts when they begin to observe these problems.

Let’s bring this discussion back around to the New World Order. The origins of this idea of a global government are solely in the Torah and the rest of the ‘Old Testament’. Yahweh promises the Jews that they will rule over the goyim (Gen 49:10-11), that the goyim will bow down to them (Gen 27:29), that the goyim will lick the dust from their feet (Isaiah 49:23), that the goyim will fear the Jews (Deut 28:10), that the goyim will be their servants (Isaiah 14:2, 61:5-6), that the goyim will beat their swords into plows to serve them (Isaiah 2:4), that they will suck the milk of the goyim nations’ wealth (Isaiah 60:16), that the wealth of all the goyim nations will flow to Jerusalem (Isaiah 66:12), that they will lend to the goyim but shall not borrow (Deut 15:6) and, most importantly for the Christians, that every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that the Jewish messiah is king over all, that the Jews were chosen, that their God is the only real God.

Christian readers probably know that when Jesus comes back, he will rule the world from Jerusalem for a thousand years. This piece of Christian belief, like everything else in Christianity, comes from Judaism and their beliefs about their coming messiah. Messiah will defeat all nations in the last great war (the war of Gog and Magog, wherein 2/3 of the world will die) and rule over the entire Earth from Jerusalem. The origins of the thousand year reign we find in the 20th chapter of the book of Revelations comes from the Jewish belief in the Sabbath Millenium. Just as God rested on the seventh day of creation, so do the Jews rest on the seventh day of the week. They are unable to perform anything that could be considered work, including flipping a light switch or tearing pieces of toilet paper. We wont even talk about the extremely Jewish practice of trying to fool Yahweh with loopholes on the sabbath to get around the rules. We will talk about the Shabbos Goy. Jews will invite a goy to be there in order to perform the tasks for the Jew that he/she cannot perform. Just as there is a sabbath on the seventh day of the week, so will there be a sabbath in the seventh millennium of creation (the Jews believe the world is about 6,000 years old). Once the messiah rules the world and the goyim are their slaves (in fact, each righteous Jew will have 2,800 gentile slaves, which comes from rabbinical interpretation of Zech 8:23 in which ten men from all the 70 nations will take hold of the tziztit of a Jew, who wear 4 of these tassles, so 700 multiplied by 4), then the Jews will have an entire millennium where they do not perform any work but instead have their gentile slaves do their every bidding and keep civilization running. You can picture an emperor being fed grapes and fanned with a leaf. If this cattle farm isn’t the most full vision of the ‘New World Order’, then I don’t know what is.

During the period of antiquity, the Jews were a small backwater people with a peculiar religion who very few people cared about. The ‘pagans’ inhabiting the world around Judea even considered the Jews as atheists, for they denied the existence of the gods. They are not a marshal people and were continually dominated by gentile kingdoms and empires. How in the world would they ever be able to make the rest of the world worship their God? In the words of Rabbi Tovias Singer ‘What did Hashem do in his great glory? He filled the world with Christianity and Islam, he filled the world with religions based on Judaism.’ Despite assurances from online Christians that there’s nothing the Jews hate more than Jesus, in upper rabbinical thought there is an ultimately positive value given to Christianity for spreading the Torah and getting the gentile world to worship the Jewish god. This is an opinion shared even by the top sage in Jewish history, Maimonides, living in the 12th century.

‘According to Maimonides, Christianity’s success in spreading Torah values throughout the world is an essential step for the ultimate day, that both Jews and Christians are awaiting, for the One God of Israel to be worshipped together, by all nations.’

Often even more favorably viewed is Islam, for they do not violate the oneness of God. With Jesusers and Mohammedans combined, about 2/3 of the world’s population believes in the Jewish god, the Jewish scriptures, the concept of a messiah to rule the Earth. Most of the world is primed to follow the 7 laws of Noah once the Messiah establishes his kingship over all. The Noahide laws are rules for the goyim to follow in the Messianic age to be obedient to Judaism without actually becoming Jews themselves and polluting the Jewish race. In the Messianic age, gentiles must obey these laws under penalty of death by decapitation. Islam is even more ripe for incorporation into the coming Jewish order because they don’t have the messy idolatrous concept of the trinity and are therefore already perfect Noahides, an observation which has been explicitly made by many rabbis. Christianity is not far behind, however, all that must be done is to do away with the trinity, to say that Jesus wasn’t really literally god himself but was just a messianic figure. This process is already well underway and there are many Christians who have abandoned the trinity.

Just how favorable of a position Israel is in to accomplish their racial vision for the new world order is difficult to exaggerate. However, more and more people are becoming aware of this information and of the true nature of Judaism. The boomers are dying and the younger generation is increasingly unfavorable towards Israel, increasingly indifferent to the obvious holocaust propaganda they have heaped upon them in school and the psychological control around the ones who cannot be criticized. It is now or never. The time is ripe, the fullness of the gentiles has come in.

‘Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.’ Romans 11:25

Jesus is the son of Joseph, Messiah ben Joseph in Judaism. He is in many ways modeled after Joseph in Genesis. He was sold by his brothers into slavery in a foreign (gentile) land and rose to rule behind the throne. He destroys this gentile land and his brothers do not recognize him until he speaks Hebrew and wears Jewish clothing. Jesus is returning to the Jews after completing his mission, to deliver them and make their enemies their footstool.

The LORD says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” Psalm 110:1

The values which were spread by Christianity were completely new in the ancient world, distinct from the intense racial ethno-religion of Judaism, and were the foundation of today’s liberalism and leftism. It was said by Oswald Spengler that Christianity is the grandmother of Bolshevism. Universalism was the rotten seed which was sown by Christianity, that all are one in Christ, there is no man or woman, no Jew or gentile. Universalism was the essential core foundation needed to facilitate this vision of the world, where the once proud and separate races will blend together in a melting pot. There will truly be the only two racial distinctions acknowledged in Judaism: the Jews and the gentiles.

The rare Christian reader who has made it this far may ask the question: If I know and recognize all of this and want to oppose the Jewish world order, what does it matter if I cling to my version of Christianity? I reply: how much of an opposition can you truly be to this vision if you want the same thing except with Jesus in place of some other messianic figure? In Christian eschatology, all of this must come to pass for Jesus to return. We must be destroyed in order to win. The true victory is at death, so what does it really matter to fight for our people in this world? The only way to truly oppose this is to reject Jewish religion altogether, to reject the Torah and the Old Testament which is the blueprint for this New Word Order, and by necessity to reject the New Covenant which rests completely upon the Old Covenant. We cannot affirm the idea that the Jews were ever chosen by god or that any of their prophecies have any legitimacy. The future should belong to us and to our children, where we rest upon the great legacy of our ancestors, who fought and died to give us the great civilization that we have. We will not yield our destiny to an imposed foreign mythology which hates us, which slanders and curses our ancestors, and which constructs for us a future where we are slaves.

I don’t care about the Palestinians

Noticing has gone mainstream. The war that is being waged on Palestine by Israel has opened a lot of people’s eyes to Zionism, or at least has made them aware of its existence. The fact that this war is waking some people up to the double standards, conquering ambitions, and special unquestionable position of ‘the Jews’ is certainly a good thing. However, this war and the reaction to it is not, as I have heard some claim, a ‘miscalculation’ by Israel. Even when Zionism is seemingly being exposed, the dialectic remains kosher.

The way that the public discourse has played out since October 7th has been very beneficial to Israel and its goals, despite plenty of people claiming the opposite. Many would have you believe that it is ‘literally over’ for Israel, that there is no coming back from this, the whole world is against them now! This is far from the truth and is spread to foster complacency. In reality, the script is playing out very well with the slight hitch here and there to be expected. Israel is in far less real trouble for the Palestine war than Russia is for Ukraine – that is to say, none at all. There is a common reason as to why the popular criticisms of these wars is empty and cannot be the basis of any serious attempts to change the course of events.

We cannot criticize Zionism simply on the basis that they are waging a war. Warfare is a completely legitimate way to acquire territory. If the Jews defeat the Arabs they will become to rightful owners of that land, full stop. Yes, there are many ‘atrocities’ happening, children being killed, hospitals bombed, etc. However, at the end of the day all that is being communicated to people by this is that warfare is horrifying. Everyone knows that. This is a very kosher criticism and leads absolutely nowhere. War is a state of nature. The same is true of criticisms of Russia for their invasion of Ukraine. As if war can be ‘illegal’ simply for being war is a fundamental denial of reality. Whether anyone else organizes to oppose it is another question, but from the point of view of the Russians or the Jews, they are simply fighting for their own interests. People groups strive for their own interests and inevitably come into conflict with other groups.

You may ask, ‘Are you saying we can’t judge a war as ethically right or wrong?’ Of course you can, but trying to bring an end to a foreign war by stirring moral outrage is a losing game. War is war and some kind of international moral regulation on war is very naive in the first place. War is literally life and death, all regulations go by the wayside. The fact that Israel has killed children alone is not something that you are going to be able to utilize as propaganda to actually make a real change that solves the main problem of Zionism, which is not this war. The best you will get is some liberal outrage on social media. I don’t even need to mention the complete cultural and religious philo-semitism that dominates the west and America which makes this so impossible. Even if you could get enough people to vote for some Totally Not Zionist Politician™, this is not an effective basis for solving the problem of Zionism and Judaism, not even remotely close. The same goes for Russia and Ukraine. Sanctions do not work and will not make a country waging a war backpedal. The only thing we could do is to physically get involved in the war ourselves and try to defeat the people we think are the Bad Guys. You can rest assured that when we do go to war in the middle east, it will be for and not against Israel. Actually, Ukraine and Palestine are both conflicts that are setting the stage for us to get involved in this big war and be destroyed. This process has been undergoing for decades with media narratives about Iran, Russia, and China. This is the prophetic Gog and Magog war where the west and the east fight and destroy one another, then the Messiah will end the war and begin his reign.

The victors of any given day win the right to live on the land that they have conquered. The only people that own any given area are those strong enough to defend their borders. Every group of people on the Earth today got to the land they live on through war and displacement. This is what history is made of. Besides the laughable concept of ‘war crimes’ and ‘illegal war’, anyone has a ‘right’ to declare war on anyone else for whatever reason. War being a state of nature, there are natural reasons why the strong do not simply conquer the whole world. This is a self-regulating phenomenon. If we were to go undoing all of the wars that have ever taken place in history we would uproot the entire Earth. Today many people are working with an extremely warped conception of history and war, and the same people will call the natural order evil, so war itself being nature means nothing to them. The fact that Jews are returning to the region of Palestine and displacing Arabs using superior strength and resources (not their own but the power and wealth taken from us and given to them by their shabbos-goyim in the West) is not the crux of the problem here.

Accusing Israel of ‘genocide’, ‘colonialism’, etc is only giving legitimacy to those ideas as the historical narratives that are used to paint white people as evil. It is playing within their paradigm. To make it clear, I am not ‘pro-genocide’, but those concepts are so wrapped up in a mess of historical lies and invalid ethical systems that they are invariably used to reinforce the liberal worldview which makes fighting back against this thing impossible at the outset. This is the whole point of this article, to argue that we are essentially limited in our language so that rebellion is not feasible, in this case the ‘language’ being the value systems we have. Many online JQ figures will repeatedly charge Israel with ‘supremacism’, ‘racism’, etc. This is not an incorrect accusation, but with the value system of liberalism, where these concerns come from, being rooted in naive nature-denying thought, arguing from these ideas is ultimately ineffective. For example, accusing Israel of ‘racism’ leads nowhere because the concept of racism comes from the universalist delusion where some kind of unjust hatred is attributed to natural social mechanisms in evolutionary biology which contribute to the survival of distinct people groups, or taking this natural ‘racism’ and giving it irrational, misconstrued motives like ‘you hate them just because their skin is a different color’. Accusing Israel of ‘supremacism’ leads nowhere because that liberal concept is likewise attributed to those who are naturally interested primarily in the well-being and affairs of their own people and who see their own people group as the good guys, or who see their culture as in some way better than other peoples’, which is actually not the most evil thing ever. For a people group to interpret reality as a story where they are protagonist is the most natural thing in the world. The problem with Judaism comes when they believe that the one and only god of the universe chose them to enforce his sole worship over all the people of the world via a king who will conquer and rule the Earth (and in our case to have a special grudge against the west and seek our destruction). As it was put by David Skrbina in his book The Jesus Hoax: How Saint Paul’s Cabal Fooled the World for Two Thousand Years:

‘Certainly, no one would deny a people pride in themselves. But these extreme statements go far beyond normal bounds. They indicate a kind of self-absorption, a self-glorification, perhaps a narcissism, perhaps a conceit. To be chosen by the creator of the universe, and to be granted right to rule, ruthlessly, over all other nations, bespeaks a kind of megalomania that is unprecedented in history.’

Look at the people who make up the protestors on college campuses. They are a bunch of leftists and liberals who repeat anti-white statements while protesting a war between two groups of brown people. Rapper Macklemore said in a pro-Palestine song that ‘white supremacy is being put on blast’. Many of these people think Israel’s war on Palestine is ‘white colonialism’. In their minds, the powerful are bad, and those with less power are good. Especially if they are brown. The less powerful side which is being defeated by the more powerful side is always good, unless they are whites fighting for white interests of course. America is such a cloaca gentium of hybrid racial monstrosities that most whites are not capable of making racial distinctions between Jews and Europeans except for the most swarthy Sephardics. European admixture into segments of the Ashkenazim does not help. For their part, Jews will pretend to be white when it is convenient for them, such as Jon Leibowitz Stuart saying on a segment called The Problem with White People: ‘Black people should hate white people. We are dicks. We ruin everything’.

There are many problems with trying to attack Judaism/Zionism using the values of the modern liberal worldview. For example, many people buy into the idea or at least the sentiment that whites need to ‘return the Indians’ land’. In reality, whites and Indians fought wars over centuries and ultimately whites conquered their lands. The Jews are returning to their ‘native’ land, and should seemingly get some kind of liberal sympathy for that, but most of it is quashed by the humanitarian outrage in Gaza. Their liberal values also make them reverent of the holy oppressed brown Arabs living there and their ‘native’ struggle. These are two conflicting currents producing a jumbled mess that is ultimately neutralized from doing anything about the situation. Liberals are against Israel because they see it is white oppression colonialism. But at the same time they believe Jews faced the ultimate crime in all of history at the hands of whites, so what room do we have to speak? Making the war in Palestine itself a central issue weakens our position and muddies the waters because it opens us up to equally faulty criticism about our wars and our ‘atrocities’ (real or fake) over the centuries.

Most people will be hard-pressed to actually care about a war between two groups of brown people across the sea, no matter how grave the atrocities are. This is not from a lack of empathy, it is just human nature. Races of people, outside of the universalism psy-op that whites have been conditioned with, naturally have an in-group preference and are concerned with their own nations. It is perfectly normal not to have a bleeding heart passion for black people in Africa living in trash-ridden shack-towns killing each-other with sideways AK-47s. I don’t care that Arabs are being blown up. Yes, its horrible, and on a basic level I can recognize the tragedy of it all, but I don’t actually care about it. Why should I? I have no dog in that fight and its not my job to get involved, why is it my duty to be sad over the deaths of people who hate our guts and want to invade our nations and impose sharia law? That is not to say I don’t care at all, I’m very interested in these developments that may involve and threaten us soon. However, it would be extreme maladjustment to be tore up over every fight that happens on Earth. Besides, they would never ever in a million years return the favor if we were being ‘occupied’ by a foreign country. In fact, they are already occupying Europe with armies of young fighting-age men. When Palestinians are on the street in America or Germany protesting to end the ‘occupation’ of Gaza, I can only think, ‘Okay, when are you going to stop occupying my nation?’

The only way that most people will be capable of caring about this is by pointing out the grave threat that Judaism poses to us. The very end goal of Zionism is that of Judaism, which is to achieve the ‘Messianic Age’ where ‘the nations’ (the gentiles) are ruled over by a Davidic King from Jerusalem. This is of course not just a threat for white people, but Jewish tradition has a particular hatred of Edom, the west, going back to European rule over Jews from Alexander the Great to the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple by Titus is 70AD. Our destruction is a heightened object of striving for them, even though they want to conquer and rule all nations. Our governments and institutions, our media, education, finance, are all under Zionist occupation. We pour billions of dollars every year on Israel, Germany has given them hundreds of billions of dollars over the years to say sorry for a crime that they did not commit. We are actively under attack, under siege by subversion and propaganda. We fight their wars for them, including the great wars and the campaigns in the middle east in the past few decades to accomplish Israel’s goals. On top of all that, we are being roped into World War III so we can fall on the sword and die for Israel. In the short term Israel is striving for ‘Eretz Yisroel’, i.e. Greater Israel (which God promised them in the Bible) from the Nile to the Euphrates, which they will achieve by Western armies fighting wars for them. In the long term they are looking for their end-of-days wars, too.

It is a good thing that the Palestine war has woken some people up. Their criticisms, however, will never go anywhere and their energy will never make a meaningful impact if this is not the main problem they have with Zionism. We have to make people understand the fundamental goals and values of Judaism. We must identify Zionism as Judaism and the nature of this project, what it has accomplished, what it is accomplishing, where this whole story is heading for us. Explaining the Hebrew hatred of our people and all the harm that is coming and has already happened to us will actually change people’s thinking on this. Many people are already primed just by noticing the world around them to regain their racial and national consciousness and dignity. These are the people people who will be needed to correct the course we are on.

Race, Religion, the Destruction of the West, and the Technology Problem

Many well-meaning people have brainstormed about what the solutions to the threats to our civilization could and should look like. Unfortunately in the anti-tech sphere and the ‘return to tradition’ movement generally, most of the thinking on this front is woefully inadequate. Even Ted Kaczynski’s conclusions in his proposed ‘Anti-Tech Revolution’ suffered from and was greatly restricted by a typical western individualism, materialism, and a severe lack of racial consciousness. Ted was pretty hands-off on the issue of religion, himself being a materialist atheist type, and he treated the issue of religion with little importance in his writings with respect to our struggle against the threats to our existence.

The struggle taking place right now for our survival is a civilizational struggle and is going to have to be confronted by the will of our peoples working together in healthy societies with faith in the goodness and purpose of our fight. It is not going to be a multicultural band of revolutionaries simply affecting a material outcome. For a group of people to work together with the cohesion, competence, and effectiveness that is required to face these threats, they are going to have to be working together as a people. Not that they will have to be the active majority in their nations, but any individual group will need to have a certain shared ethnic and cultural identity to ever accomplish a revolution against the most powerful system on Earth. This is simply a fact of human biology and psychology. The groups in this movement will face the most dire circumstances with their backs against the wall, and they will require the cohesion of a people to survive it. That is not to say that in the real world people of different races do not work together to accomplish minor goals. However, it is a fact that societies are most healthy as a homogeneous race and people of different races inevitably have a level of suspicion towards one another (even if subconsciously) and a difference in how they perceive and deal with reality. We have seen what actually happens when the system breaks down, such as in Hurricane Katrina. People almost immediately organize along racial lines. The same goes for prison and in nature itself outside of forced multiculturalism. Two peoples can work together on the technology issue, but they are going to have to do so as two peoples.

Let me clarify that I am quite free from racial hatred, although the same cannot be said for foreigners who think they have a right to live in our nations while believing we are evil. White people are not moving to China en masse and asking why Chinese people run everything, demanding that everything be made less Chinese. Unlike most people who are still retaining their conditioning on this topic, I’m simply realistic about the realities of race. The quicker we accept reality and act accordingly, the better. Coincidentally, most people who have made significant contributions to the anti-tech movement are men of European descent. I’m sure there are a couple tedpilled blacks out there, and I know an Asian, but almost all of the technoskeptics, primitivists, ecofascists, etc. are white men (and a few white women). Why is that?

First, let’s observe that the technological system is not the only struggle for survival taking place here. There is the material threat, the technological system, and there is a civilizational threat in the field of group-conflict. The fact that the west is under attack is quite obvious to everyone willing to look, and many more recognize it subconsciously. The leftists think it is a good thing because the west is evil, white, racist, colonialist, etc, and many on the right believe our destruction is part of God’s plan. Many of us naturally oppose our destruction and reject the lies about our inherent evil. Very few people, however, are willing to actually identify the party which is interested and working against us. The destruction of western civilization is being sought and achieved by an oppositional worldview to the European one, that being the Jewish worldview. For the lay person, reading that likely produces a visceral reaction of disgust that I could say such a thing. This is the single most intensely conditioned and propagandized subject in the minds of western people and the anti-virus that has been installed in most people’s heads on this topic is incredibly strong. This is not the primary subject of this article so I won’t be able to do the subject full justice here, however I will be writing about this in-depth soon. I am not ‘anti-semitic’ and do not hate these people, although the same cannot be said for Jews who view all non-Jews as ‘goyim’, as cattle, and believe that God created us goy only to serve them. The reason for the Jewish hatred of Europeans is woven into the religion of Judaism and is heavily influenced by historical events in antiquity, when Jews were dominated by European pagans for centuries and had their temple destroyed during the second of three revolts against the Romans, eventually being ‘exiled’ from the region until 1948. This is the group-conflict threat that we face.

We have to understand some of the fundamental characteristics of Judaism. The Jews are God’s chosen race and all throughout the ‘Old Testament’ (Hebrew Bible) Yahweh promises them that they will reign over ‘the nations’ (all non-Jews, the goyim/gentiles), will suck the milk of the nations, foreigners will do their work for them, the gentile kings will bow down to them, the wealth of the nations will flow into Jerusalem, they will lend to the goyim but shall not borrow, they will reign over the goyim but shall not be reigned over. They are to do all of this with the messiah, a Jewish king who will defeat all of Israel’s enemies (which is all of the goyim) and will rule the world from Jerusalem. All gentiles will either convert to follow the 7 Noahide Laws or face execution. I know this sounds like it surely can’t be real, but it is. You don’t have to take it from me, there are countless videos and books in which rabbis say exactly this, and you need only to read the ‘Old Testament’ to find the blueprint for domination that I am talking about. Add on to this the destruction of the second temple and you have a vicious hatred of the goy and a special grudge against the west. They are actually commanded by God to hold these grudges, and to ‘never forget what Amalek (representing gentiles generally) did to you’. It is hard for our western minds to even comprehend an ethno-religion holding a special hatred like this for 2,000 years, or an ethno-religion where a certain race is chosen by God to rule everyone else. On some level we don’t want to believe that could be true because we’ve been so conditioned to think everyone is exactly the same under the skin. It is right there in their scriptures, though. The goals of Judaism are admitted openly by all of the top rabbinical authority, including the special prophetic plan for the destruction of the west.

This is a likely reason why there seems to be a higher awareness and interest for the technology problem in western societies. We are on the knife’s edge of the technological threat because of its implementation in our sought-after destruction. That is not to say that other people aren’t feeling the ill effects of industrial technology. But technology is by default a main weapon used against us for the purpose of destruction. Another aspect of note is that the industrial system was a western phenomenon, our people’s lives have been entirely shaped by industrial developments for centuries and our minds have had much more time to digest and analyze the nature and the consequences of industrial technology. Perhaps there is also something genetic within the psychology of western people that lends to the values and thinking which produce an anti-tech position. It is impossible to say for sure. Regardless, concern over the threat of technology seems to be primarily a western phenomenon.

Among Kaczysnki’s main points of argument is the sickness of leftism and leftist psychology. He rightly pointed out that leftism and leftist thinking will completely neutralize an anti-tech movement and render it ineffective. In Anti-Tech Revolution: Why and How, Kaczynski made a connection between leftism and Christianity as both being millenarian and universalist, as well as deifying the lowly and weak and condemning the strong and successful. A major weakness of Ted’s neglect of the topic of religion is failing to identify the similarity of Christianity and leftism as a cause for concern over the presence and dominance of Christianity in the anti-tech movement and in today’s rising ‘return to tradition’ movement. I understand how Ted missed this, he was raised in a mostly materialist environment, was a university academic, and perceived the technological phenomenon as a purely material subject. However, in reality the values of leftism are all entirely present in and originated from Christianity, and the Christian worldview is something that is going to have to be similarly rejected if we are ever to have victory.

For those in our space who do recognize that religion plays a vital role in our society and in our lives, most of them worship a foreign God, the God of Israel, the Jewish messiah, and are rendered ineffective by adopting all of the misanthropic life-denial values of the Jewish worldview. These people see the madness of the modern world and rightly want a return to tradition. They see Christianity as a stable value system to return to, as if the problems in the west are a result of people leaving Christianity. Yes, a lack of religion is a big part of the sickness in our society, but the current dominant sickness of leftism is totally born from Christianity. Leftism is secularized Christianity, all of the same universalist values and millenarianism. The Jewish apostle Saul of Tarsus who became Paul is replaced with the Jewish apostle Moses Mordechai-Levi who became Karl Marx. Christianity is theological proto-leftism.

Christianity also produces a great deal of complacency and inaction because no matter what we do Jesus is coming back to set things straight, we have already won. All we need to do is sit back and live innawoods and trust the plan. Unfortunately, Christianity is part of the sickness that has been rotting our once vital and strong western civilization for a long time. I do not mean to attack the Christians reading this, I know many of them and I know how hard these things are to read. This is just the extremely uncomfortable reality of the nature of Christianity and the consequences of its value system. All of us are trying to figure out the world around us with the information we have available to us, and for most of us in the west on the issue of religion, Christianity is all we know. All of our native religions were killed by the invasion of this foreign Jewish messainism. I do not fault anyone for clinging to Christianity. I was born into a Christian family, was sucked into leftist atheism for a while, and eventually returned to Christianity. I studied the Bible thoroughly and tried for several years to be Christian. I know that Christianity can and does produce many good feelings. We then tend to perceive these feelings as proof our beliefs are correct. However, as I investigated the roots of Christianity, I came to a point where I knew I would either have to face what the facts were showing or I’d have to just sacrifice logic and believe no matter what. The origins of Christianity have been thoroughly exposed by many authors and it deserves further treatment in a separate article.

In order to actually talk to a Christian about these things, it is necessary to rehabilitate logic and our logical faculties first. Christianity has woven into it a strong element of anti-logic (Paul says ‘Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?’, and ‘Let him become a fool so that he may be wise.’), a distrust of seriously questioning and analyzing it for fear that we are being tricked by satan. For these reasons, very few practicing Christians are in the psychological position to critically analyze their worldview. It is simply human nature to try to maintain the current worldview, it is extremely destabilizing and shocking to a person to have their beliefs changed in such a major way. The mind reacts to this threat the same way it does to a physical threat.

A topic of incredible depth and breadth is the role that Christianity has played and continues to play in the struggle between the European and the Jewish civilizations. Many people have done great work on this front, such as fellow technology skeptic Dr. David Skrbina in his book The Jesus Hoax: How Saint Paul’s Cabal Fooled the World for Two Thousand Years. A great point made by Skrbina is that the Jews of antiquity could not win on the battlefield and had no hope for their military messiah, and so in response they developed the skill of rhetoric and propaganda by which to achieve their goals. I will not unpack this too much here, suffice it to say that I believe that Christianity was a essentially a psy-op mystery religion given to the pagan gentile world at the time by the efforts of Saul, Shimone Peter, and others, keeping in mind the historical struggle at the time of the Jews being dominated by the big bad Romans, fighting several unsuccessful rebellions. In order to bring the gentiles to obedience of the God of Israel and to believe that the Jews are chosen by God, and to nuetralize the vitality of Europeans over time by a transvaluation of the mighty pagan Roman and Greek Empires into a weak slave morality, the gentiles were given a ‘Judaism for the goy’ with such beliefs as: ‘love your enemies and do not resist them; if someone strikes you upon the cheek, present to them the other cheek also; if someone enslaves you, do more work for them than they asked; if someone steals your cloak, give them your tunic also; if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back’.

Thus in the Roman Empire all the multicultural slave classes adopted and spread this universalist slave morality. The Romans were instilled with racial guilt, the ‘powers of the world’ (their state) was made evil, they lost confidence in themselves. The Empire was overrun by foreigners and collapsed. The dark ages ensued and centuries of whites forcibly converting Europeans at the sword to this Jewish religion. Centuries more of whites killing each other over disagreements about how to worship the king of the Jews, whereas wars of religion in Europe were unheard of before. Modern Israel could never have existed without Christianity and Christian Zionists who facilitated the creation of the Jewish state by war, finance (Rothschilds, et al), and the United Nations. The Jesus fable is the best thing that has ever happened to the Jewish people. They went from being dominated by Europeans to dominating Europeans through theological control, cultural collapse, finance, and ultimately by psychology. Gentiles admit that the Jews are God’s chosen race and all of their scriptures where it says they will conquer us, the Christians say is the word of God. Not only that, most Christians believe that our destruction has to happen to fulfill end times prophecy. Funny how that works out. Even to atheists and secular people the Jews are holy and special, the ultimate victims. By achieving this unquestionable status, the modern Jewish nation is positioned to try to accomplish the main goal of their ethno-religion.

You may think that this is not the great threat that I am making it out to be, but look at all that Zionism has accomplished in the past century and how tightly their psychological stranglehold is over the minds of western people. You can’t even get close to thinking that a Jew would ever do anything bad at all without being called the ultimate epitome of evil, a terrible ‘Nazi’ who wants to genocide all Jews. The destruction of our people is well underway with white nations being flooded with Africans and Arabs ensuing in great violence, rape, destabilization, and sucking the resources of these countries to support them. Coupled with the low and falling birthrates of whites, we are facing a cultural genocide. The city of London is today 36% white. How did we get here? Because of a rotten series of value systems from Christianity to liberalism to leftism that has made us submit to our destruction, to ‘present the other cheek also to be struck’, to believe that all men are brothers in Christ, in racial universalism. We have been psy-oped into hating our own race, we were taught in school that white people committed all the most heinous crimes in history including somehow the genocide of more Jews than lived in all of Europe at the time. It is an active point in our culture that whites are evil, racist, hateful, have no culture, lame, corny, etc. Whites have no confidence or faith in themselves or their existence, they think we have no right to look out for ourselves and that its time for whites to ‘get their due’. Today we are about to be sucked into WWIII with Iran and Russia because our Zionist controlled ‘leaders’ are happy to throw millions of our people into the meat grinder as soldiers for Israel. A war that we are supposed to lose by the way, completing our destruction.

Most Europeans are not at all aware of this plot against them. The complete institutional capture of media and education has made this conditioning incredibly sophisticated. On the other hand, the Jewish people are very conscious of this conflict between themselves and European civilization, it is explicitly described and elaborated on in the Talmuds, Tanakh, Torah, Tanya, and Zohar, and it has been the subject of countless rabbinical lectures and books over the past two millennia, it is publicly remarked upon by regular Jewish people, it is a strong cultural facet of Judaism. It is integral to their scriptures as they are Jacob and we are viewed as Esau. It says in Obadiah and elsewhere that the descendants of Esau will be exterminated and there shall be no survivors from the house of Esau. The opposition and hostility towards Europe is inextricably woven into the Jewish religion, culture, and worldview. We were taught that the National Socialists in Germany believed they were the ‘master race’ (a phrase that appears nowhere in Germany in any records) and wanted to exterminate the other races and conquer the world. The Germans did not believe any of that or desire that. However, that is actually exactly what Judaism teaches, that the Jews are God’s chosen race and are to rule the nations and the nations are to serve them in the messianic age or face execution.

So, how do we reconcile the existence of these two great threats that we as western people face? And what is more of an imminent threat, the advance of the technological system or our destruction as a race? Given what I laid out about the racial, social, and spiritual component of any struggle against technology, and what would obviously be required to reverse course on our destruction by group-conflict means, the West is either way going to have to experience a complete and total revolution in the hearts and spirit of our people, a true revitalization of our entire civilization. Something like the change that took place in Germany in the late 20s and early 30s where a completely crushed and demoralized people were filled with hope and confidence again and actually believed in themselves. It is very likely that our destruction in the messianic plan will come before the ‘point of no return’ on facing the technological system, and because of that we are going to have to deal with the threat to ourselves as a race of people first. All we have to do is stop being willing servants of the Zionist project. I’m not advocating we ‘kill the Jews’ or anything like that, the only reason any of this is happening is because we let it and make it happen due to our belief in their stories.

Even if the movement of this revolution of spirit had not yet come to power within a nation, the cultural change would make it actually possible for us to have enough capable people with sufficiently strong drive, faith, and motivation. There is a reason that there has been (excluding ineffective saboteur cells) no real active or successful anti-tech movement aside from online theory-crafting and people setting out to homestead and farm, none of which I look down on by the way, they are important and obviously I write and homestead as well. What I am saying is that our societies are way too demoralized and dispirited for enough men to even be in the psychological or emotional position to care enough and be willing to do anything to solve the problem. We have no fire burning in our hearts for much of anything, we are completely overwhelmed by the decay and collapse of our societies. The best we can do is go live innawoods and employ the ostrich strategy. We will need more than that if we are to survive either of these problems.

Kaczynski said ‘this is not to be a political revolution’. With regards to anti-tech efforts, I agree, but it is not going to simply be an ideological revolution either. To accomplish such monumental tasks requires something that we severely lack: spirit and will. Before anything else must be a total spiritual and cultural overhaul, a transvaluation back to the might and virility of auld lang syne. It is also not enough for this spiritual revolution to only take place in a small group of committed revolutionaries, but this new old current will have to break into the mainstream. The reader may ask, wouldn’t a successful revolution against the technological system solve the group-conflict threats we face? Possibly, but as I have argued here, a successful, intentional, global destruction of the techno-industrial system will never be accomplished in the current spiritual milieu. I do not mean to argue that we should ignore the technology problem, far from it. We just can’t sit back and allow ourselves to be destroyed because we thought technology was more important. If we were ever in a place to deal with the technology problem, we would have already rescued our civilization from doom. Logic and naturalistic idealism alone may be enough to make a few people intensely passionate and willing to act. However, most would-be fighters who agree with Kaczynski logically are not in a position to be effective revolutionaries. Our social dynamic is not capable of facilitating this movement to the point that it would be successful. If we can never come to see ourselves as the good guys in our own story, we will never have victory.

Psychological and Spiritual Consequences of Synthesized vs. Analogue Music

The first commercially available electronic music synthesizers were made in the late 1950s and were popularized in mainstream music use by the 1970s. The sound of the 80s essentially is just the synthesizer. Since then, electronically-generated sounds have been used to invent many genres of music as well as invaded those genres previously dominated by analogue instruments. If you turn on the radio you are most likely to be met with the sounds of synthesizers. The reader may be asking what the difference is if the synthesizer accurately reproduces the sound of the instrument. I posit that the way the music is produced has a deep impact on the overall pathology of humans. Admittedly this is very conceptual and not a systematized theory. It is just an idea that I have been playing around with for a year or two. Let’s go ahead and get right into the substance of this thought.

Analogue music played on physical instruments not only requires energy for each individual pluck of the string, strike of the key, etc, but the musician is required to dedicate much time and effort practicing and developing a relationship with their instrument. When the instrument is played, the depth of this relationship is revealed by all that is communicated in the way the musician plays, the tone of the sounds and the deep, fluid involvement of the person’s entire being in what they play. It is an incredibly human action to play an instrument. To have the energy and tact to play the instrument requires the person be awake, sober, preferably fed, and healthy. What I am really trying to communicate is the practical cause and effect required to play an instrument, from sounding individual notes to playing a complex song. This is contrasted with electronically synthesized music, which will produce infinite noise at the press of a button as long as the power plants continue to send electricity down the power lines. Admittedly, a person will need to learn how to work their way around a standard piano layout to become proficient with a synth, but it is obvious that the barrier to entry is drastically reduced, although it should be said that mastering a synth and the entire apparatus around using one is definitely an extremely impressive feat requiring lots of time and development of skill. That being said, you can make an entire complex song just inputting the notes individually despite not knowing how to play a piano. No one even has to play the instrument, what often happens is the note structure is programmed into it via code or the user interface of a computer application.

This important difference in the source of the sounds and the relationship between creation and creator, I argue, has a deep impact on the way a person thinks and their psychological environment. Electronically synthesized music in some indirect way influences people to more readily give themselves over to fancies of infinite pleasure and consumption, because necessarily the spirit of the music reflects the manner in which it is produced, while the analogue musician is more given to the grounded sober truths of life for quite the same reason. The fact that what stimuli we surround ourselves with affects our consciousness, moods, opinions, pathology, etc should be a given, but let’s also recognize that our surroundings do not have to have explicit, direct, black-and-white characteristics to cause a certain effect. I think the reader will find my hypothesis is validated when we look at the real world and the types of people who listen to electronic music and compare them with those that listen to analogue music. I’m sure you can imagine the types who attend EDM festivals, raves, and the like. That is not to suggest that eccentricity or ‘alternativeness’ is indicative of a moral failing, I am simply pointing out the common phenotype of the electronic music listener. You will rarely find these individuals playing instruments. If you look at the type of person who plays an instrument or sings, or the type of person who listens to genres based in analogue music production like classical, bluegrass, jazz, etc, these people are generally quite normal, grounded individuals with a sound mind and respectable appearance. That is not to say that there aren’t respectable-looking or acting people who listen to electronic music, or strung-out individuals who prefer instruments, but that is not the point. The point is the overall effects on pathology in the population, and pointing out the general trend of electronic music scenes as being populated by the oddball is just to demonstrate that.

Synthesizers do not just dominate the scenes of EDM or dubstep, however. They are used overwhelmingly to supply the backing tracks for pop music vocalists, they are essentially the only source of sound in hip hop, and in reality they are the basis of all of the most popular genres of music today. Even music that could just as well be produced by a skilled musician is often substituted by a synthesizer for convenience sake. I would compare the super-normal stimulus of the electronically produced sound to like that of the super-normal stimulus of fast food, or whatever other industrial-slop you’d like to consider. The immediate sensations produced feel very good, fast food tastes good and hip hop or pop sounds good (to most), but they are ultimately not good for you despite the pleasant experience produced. This could just as well be said about the stimulus of a drug and its eventual negative consequences, although I am not sure about the extent to which the addictive quality of certain music can be equated with that of fast food or drugs. Yet, electronic music is listened to by so many people, and not everyone is a freak like the stereotyped EDM festival attendee I suggested earlier. There are degrees of exposure here, the people who are the real oddballs mostly listen to purely ‘instrumental’ electronic music, such as dubstep, that have no words or anything human about them, and they have listened to it for years, hence why people who just went through a dubstep phase did not all turn out as alternative digital-heads.

The idea that certain genres or styles of music attract different archetypes of people should not be a controversial one. Nor should it be contested that exposure to music has deep psychological impacts that manifest in the real world as actions. People have long noted the different types of music played in different stores to influence people to buy products. It is not just the sound meeting the ears which causes the effects on a person that I’ve described, but the way the sounds are produced and what is required of people to produce them necessarily shapes the conventions and structure of the genres utilizing synths. Because electronic music is infinite at little cost, the songs more often contain themes of infinite fanciful pleasure, materialism, strong sensations for the sake of it, ultimately characteristics of the spiritually dead and vacant. Music is a spiritual activity, and the spirit of the person and the ‘instrument’ come together to produce a synthesis. The spread of electronic music to mainstream genres may subtly affect pathology in way as to cause the population to be increasingly unrealistic or naive (lack of practical cause and effect in music) and always hungry for stimulus. Admittedly, this contains some speculation and there are a great deal of other things which also cause people to have these characteristics in the modern world. To extend the discussion this far would include not only the source of the sound of music but also the character of music being produced. For example, a person who listens to mostly reggae will be much more likely to be peaceful, whereas a person who listens to mostly rap will be much more likely to be materialistic and hedonistic. This is partly because these people had these archetypes before the music matured them, but it is also true that people who would have otherwise not been a hedonistic materialist can be influenced into becoming one from exposure to music with constant themes of materialism and hedonsim, such as hip hip/rap. This is not due to the differences in analogue or digital alone, but has to do with the basic substance and spirit of the music as intended mostly in lyrics. It does not have to just be in the lyrics though, as different notes communicate feelings as well as words do. All that being said, the character of the music, lyrics, tone, etc, is deeply dependent on and affected by the requirements of producing sound.

As to what the exact effects will be on society and their intensity in the coming decades we cannot say. We’ve done enough to outline the general affect on the population in attitude and behavior. I reserve judgement on whether this conversation can be extended to the style of emitting sound, via a speaker, straight from the instrument, etc. Considering that all sound captured by the human ear has to be analogue sound waves, and thus all digital sound leaving a speaker are always converted to analogue upon leaving the speaker, I am inclined to believe that this is not a point with a relevant impact on the discussion. I am also not 100% sure that all electronically produced music has negative psychological or spiritual affects, and there are many instances where a song is electronically produced but uses samples of analogue recordings, or that perhaps the music is of good quality and composed in a skillful way as to not produce negative psychological effects despite being synthesized. As was mentioned earlier, this is a work in progress idea.

The Political Compass is Worse Than Useless

The left/right paradigm is the Overton window of the world. Almost everyone limits their thinking of politics to that of the left and the right. The ‘Political Compass’ has emerged in the past two decades as a popular way by which people identify their political position, usually by taking a rudimentary test online. This compass has the x-axis, left/right economics, and the y-axis, authoritarian/libertarian government. It seems like an intuitively sensible way to think about the world and it is even fun to take the tests and identify yourself as this or that. There are many young people who latch on to these identities and put so much importance in them that it becomes a sort of astrology. However, I believe it is actually worse than useless as a way to think about the world and it induces a sort of neurotic brain-rot, as all inherently contradictory systems of thought will eventually.

As stated, the two main divides are economic position and government position. There’s always been governments as long as humans have been civilized, and there’s always been some sort of activity that could be called economy. However, the economic divide of the political compass is based on the industrial revolution and the subsequent economic systems that it produced, the ‘left’ and ‘right’. It may be objected that capitalism begun (though, not in proper) before the start (in proper) of the industrial revolution, but the motivating forces at the premise of capitalism tend toward technical development, although not in a totally unrestricted way like with communism, since there are occasions in capitalism where it is more profitable to delay a technical development, usually because the rest of the technical ensemble hasn’t caught up yet. Industrialism and industrial production necessitate an immense amount of organizing, coordination, planning, hierarchy (the proceeding items demand it), and structure. The top half of the political compass makes sense for this reason as the state/companies facilitate these things in industrial development. However, you will find that when examined soberly, the bottom half of the compass is contradictory on such a fundamental level as to make both anarcho-communism and anarcho-capitalism mere meaningless concepts and, moreover, delusions of a very high order.

Industrialism demands the intervention of the state, even in capitalist economies. People often think of the United States as purely free-market, but in all important industries the federal government coordinates and outlines what should be produced and how much. Ellul observed this in Chapter 3 of The Technological Society:

These elements of a given system, which are important in their specificity, lose importance, however, if, instead of isolating the system, we try to reintegrate it into the complex of society and into the general course of history. What then takes on importance are the elements in their relation. Relations are of the highest importance, not mere internal consistency. It is the connections between the economic system and the state (with its technical means, different classes, and structures in national form) which be come characteristic. And we do not mean here theoretical connections, but real ones resulting from the internal necessity of the regime. From this point of view, the corporate economy and the planned economy come singularly close together, to the degree that both systems (a) take a firm hold on the economy, (b) manage it on the basis of exact mathematical methods, (c) integrate it into a Promethean society which excludes all chance, (d) centralize it in the frameworks of nation and state (the corporate economy today has no chance of success except as a state system), (e) cause it to assume an aspect of formal democracy to the total exclusion of real democracy, and (f) exploit all possible techniques for controlling men. The kinship of the two systems is obvious in spite of differences in material structure. The end pursued by both the corporate economy and the planned economy, and the means adopted to reach this end, are identical. Only the outward forms change. It is useless to compare these forms. History will decide which form is best-best adapted to the common end.

Jacques Ellul

The naive among us will think to themselves ‘But we can still do industrial production, it just wont be as efficient because we aren’t chasing profit’. However, communist countries pursue technical development in a more unimpeded manner than the capitalists do because of the aforementioned profitable delays in technical development in capitalism. The Soviet Union was famous for its technical ensemble. The naive will again say that the state would have eventually withered away, but by what means is never even approaching an explanation even by Marx. It is as naive of a self-deception as you can commit. The world is a stage in which many systems are competing for dominance, and as soon as something has achieved dominance, its competition turns inward until it collapses or some other system comes and out-competes it. Communist countries have to pursue technical development to compete with capitalist countries and with each other. There will never not be a time where a group of industrial producers aren’t competing with others, and this competition demands the committed pursuit of technical development. Even if a group was not in competition, the very acts involved in the industrial process from energy production to manufacture necessitate planning, organization, and hierarchy. The state will not wither away and there will not be reached a workers paradise where all people participate in highly organized industrial production and do not compete and sing kum ba ya.

This fundamental contradiction between what is required by industrialism in the realm of human organization and what is pursued by anarchism in the breakdown of organization cannot be overstated. Nonetheless, most leftists consider themselves in the third quadrant (left-libertarian) and most young rightists consider themselves to be in the fourth quadrant (right-libertarian). Not all of these people consider themselves to be actual anarchists and believe in some level of government, but that being less involved that the current government, although the leftists want the government to become more involved by being more leftists but less involved by being more libertarian somehow. Maybe the contradictory involvements will cancel each other out and it’ll be not much of a change, but again even the idea of there being differences in levels of involvement in the government between communism and capitalism is mostly false, as was illuminated by the quote from Ellul.

Not only is the compass fundamentally flawed in that it has two lower quadrants which are totally nonsensical, but its divide that has the most attention paid to it, left and right, isn’t even a meaningful one because of the increasing homogeneity of forms between the communist and capitalist governments. It doesn’t really matter what system wins out in the end because they will arrive at the same place, that being whatever place is best for technological development. People are sheep-herded into this or that school of thought as many ancoms and ancaps are and just end up in a place that doesn’t even matter. No one will ever make a meaningful fight for anarcho-communism or anarcho-capitalism and there’s nothing to even arrive at anyway. In this way swaths of people are effectively neutralized politically and constrained in a state of mind that is to the system’s benefit. There’s an argument to be made that in the long-term historically going in to the future as the technological system matures that even private companies and governments will not have a meaningful difference between them, which has been touched upon by many people who have observed that if huge corporations are left without the government in anarcho-capitalism then they become the government, and the government already can be thought of as a gigantic private corporation, albeit one that is publicly-traded, like all large ones are.

And so, most people spend their time dreaming up what political identity satisfies their psychological needs and spin their wheels in the mud doing so. As I mentioned at the start of this article, letting the political compass invade your mind induces varying degrees of neuroticism in different people, but always neuroticism nonetheless, being just the natural consequence of basing a large part of your thinking about the world on nonsense. It is building your houses on sand, the cracks appear and progress. You can find evidence of the neurotic and even somewhat schizophrenic nature of political-compass-heads if you dare to wander into a place such as r/PoliticalCompassMemes. I wouldn’t recommend staring into the abyss for too long.
