In the last 4 months, we have carried out 5 incendiary attacks against the railway signal cables in the Düsseldorf area. In one of them we left the tag “Stop Tren Maya”{1} clearly visible. The main goal was to hinder the commodity traffic. This made several tracks partially inoperative during the whole day. To increase their effect, we tried to synchronize the incendiary attacks with strikes or other sabotage actions against the railroads.
The society we live in is about to engulf the entire planet. The massive transformation of natural ecosystems into dead products is not the consequence of a lack of information or immature technologies, but a central mechanism of the system. It brings with it a vortex of war, disease and exploitation.
In combination with the absolute obligation to grow, this mechanism is ultimately incompatible with the sustainability of life.
None of the false solutions proposed is able to change anything about this problem. Neither so-called renewable energies, nor communism, nor so-called green consumption, nor any spiritual “transformation”.
The only solution is the complete dismantling of the technological and industrial system. We consider attacks on transportation, communication and energy infrastructures, as well as other forms of resistance, to be indispensable in this struggle. Our loyalty must no longer be able to be bought with cheap toys and shallow entertainment, nor coerced by heavy-handed violence.
Every grain of sand in the gears contributes to blocking the expansion of the machine.

[Switch off] Rail strike extended
We took advantage of the back-to-back strikes and protests to paralyze the rail tracks near Düsseldorf in the Eller district again two weeks ago, using an incendiary device. They could not be repaired before the start of the freight strike. The fact that the State Protection Service (Staatsschutz) is now leading the investigation shows us the potential that such simple means can develop with the right timing.
We believe that a state that destroys our means of subsistence and profits from imperialist wars is not worth protecting at all. On the contrary, we must protect ourselves from it.
While some confuse politics with accounting and have set up their CO2 calculator as the only moral compass, and others are still wondering whether we’re asking too much of the good citizen with hot glue and mashed potatoes, we’re hurtling unchecked towards the sixth mass extinction. Meanwhile, over a hundred species are disappearing every day. Every single day.
For us, the needs of the natural world are no longer negotiable. To defend them, we need coordinated resistance through underground networks.
At the same time, we need to develop or rediscover alternative ways of producing and living that can mitigate the growing failures of the system over the coming decades. But alternatives are no substitute for opposition. Anyone who, after millennia of expulsion and genocide of indigenous societies, still believes that the system will tolerate any alternative alongside it, is naive.
It’s equally naive to think, after millennia of technological escalation and resource extraction, that we can draw a line somewhere and say, “Up to here and no further! Let’s keep it that way!” Containing certain destructive techniques or defending certain places is useful of course, but defensiveness is no substitute for offense.
The world will only be able to breathe when more than a hundred companies and groups go bankrupt every day. Every single day.

Silence falls over the forest, the tawny owl raises its voice,

“What’s all this noise doing here at night? You’ve gone crazy!” / Let’s forgive the owl this language, it’s affecting him personally…
It’s the blood of the earth that trucks and trains carry.
/ It’s been stolen far away, from Sami territory, from the Congo, from Chile.
“But what do we make with all this? A bunch of luxury goods and junk!” / “Plus, we’re fighting a war over it!” He must be astonished.
But to all those who think that’s all there is to it, I’d simply say: “Far from it!” During the day, ugly chainsaws often join in.
And every year the same song: “From now on, everything will be greener” / Ah Habeck{2}, shut your beak – you’re the laughing stock of the whole wood!
Young climate activists talk a lot about wind power, solar power and quotas, / but they’re not interested in four-legged creatures.
But if the trains come to a halt, suddenly everyone knows: / Even today, the feather of the bird has been mightier than the sword of the state.
These birds are angry – very angry! – their plumage is green and black / It wasn’t the last time today, the migratory birds are coming back.
How much did it cost? Well, it’s hard to say.

But seriously: the earth is going down the drain. The industrial corporations of the corrupt state we call home are not least to blame.
That’s why, on Wednesday (21.8.), incendiary devices were placed on the signal cables of the railroad line in the district of Mettmann. Passenger traffic was not affected.

On Friday morning (January 24), we used tried-and-tested methods to take Düsseldorf’s most important freight line out of service for at least 12 hours. For at least 24 hours, its use was only possible with severe restrictions. In addition to the immediate economic damage, we would like to draw your attention to the following appeal. We would also like to apologize to the travelers affected, and hope that at least a few commuters were able to enjoy a day off as a result.
Dear citizen,
We have been lied to. We’ve been told that our leaders always act in our best interests. We were told that we lived in the best of societies. That we were the envy of the world. That nowhere has it ever been better. That the answer to every question was “technical progress!” and that the answer to all the problems that ensued was “even more!”. We’re supposed to believe that we can live without whales, beetles, bats, forests and clean water, but that without the state, the economy and the police, we couldn’t survive a week. We’ve been led to believe that Elon Musk and his gang will build us a paradise on Mars and download our consciousness into the cloud, but that a life without smartphones and cars is utopian, that economic change is even impossible.
And we were told that everything would be fine if we did our jobs well, voted, and let the politicians do their jobs.
Let’s look at ourselves: sick, cowardly and lazy, we stare at our screens wondering what went wrong. Under the blows of constant propaganda, too stultified and confused to recognize genocide as such, it’s no wonder they can even sell us natural gas, fighter jets and solar power as sustainable. Cancer, diabetes, bad posture, severe depression and many others are no longer exceptional these days, even among the young. We drag ourselves into minimum-wage jobs where we’re treated like sub-humans. We’re then permitted to do things that don’t really make sense to us. But maybe things will get better with the next vacation. Or the new television series. Or retirement. Or simply when the next beer has been drunk.
But there’s hope too: more and more people are seeing through the empty promises of the system. They no longer let themselves be taken for fools by politicians, teachers, newspapers and activists. They know that power relationships don’t change without a struggle, and they’re learning how to wage such a struggle. In addition to willpower and tactical ability, what’s needed is a correct diagnosis, a strategy and a functioning organization. This is what the fledgling movement lacks.
The most urgent problem of this century is technological escalation. Although serious environmental modifications have been carried out since ancient times by so-called civilized peoples, the scale of the destruction that began with the emergence of industrial society is on a whole new level. No place or living creature is safe anymore. All the planet’s ecosystems are damaged or already in the process of collapsing. There is no longer a river to drink from without danger. Once again, the technological system has poisoned all our rivers. This crime alone puts the system on a par with the worst dictatorships. And it must be opposed accordingly – as a resistance movement.
Why as a resistance movement? Can’t culture be changed gradually through persuasion? By larger and larger alternative communes setting a good example? By a grassroots movement? Or by putting pressure on politicians? Or a new party?
No. The driving force behind the escalation of technology and the increasing exploitation of people, animals and nature lies not in erroneous values or convictions, but in the simple fact that this methodology is efficient.
– Human beings will always gather in groups to facilitate their survival. In sufficiently large groups, sub-groups form.
– The more resources a group needs for its way of life, the more it competes with other groups.
– Social groups that seek to gain power no matter the cost will always, in the long run, prevail in a state of competition against those who do not, or who do so in a limited way, for example because they are constrained by concern for the long-term consequences for humans and the environment.
– The unbridled quest for power leads to a resource-hungry lifestyle, and thus to more states of competition.
A less abstract way of putting it: it doesn’t matter how habitable, peaceful and sustainable your abandoned farm is – if the system needs your land, the police will come and take it. And they’ll come with better weapons than yours.
Because of the mechanism succinctly described here, it doesn’t matter whether you can convince the politician or the police chief of your program. If it doesn’t increase the power of the system, in the long run it will either be replaced, put back on track, or the whole system (in this case: Germany) will be replaced by another, less cautious and therefore more powerful system. The same goes for business leaders, and so on. The idea that we can control technical and therefore social development and shape it to our will is largely an illusion.
The only realistic option is therefore to make the use of industrial technologies physically impossible. This is easier than it sounds, and can be achieved by a relatively small proportion of the population. Due to the highly interconnected nature of the modern global economy, a severe economic crisis in one of the industrialized countries, or the interruption of raw material exports from a major supplier country, would have serious consequences for countries and their industries worldwide. Such crises can be intensified, or even triggered, by coordinated acts of sabotage (depending on the scale of the movement, possibly accompanied by strikes, riots, occupations and civil disobedience). The scarcity of resources and extreme weather events play into the hands of resistance. If the industrial system were brought down, it could never be rebuilt, because the resources which, at the start of the industrial era, could still be exploited fairly easily, with picks and shovels so to speak, can now only be found at extreme depths. So you need a high-tech apparatus that’s already FUNCTIONING to extract the components and fuels needed for this apparatus. Not even the electrical grid can be reactivated after a national blackout.
However, the scenario of a sudden collapse of all civilization remains the stuff of disaster movies and apocalyptic cults. Historically, such events have lasted for decades and have been seen by many contemporaries as periods of renewal. It should also be stressed that IN ALL SCENARIOS, the system will collapse. The only thing that depends on us is how much of the planet will remain at that point.
In addition to attack, it’s important that people are as prepared as possible for the slow disintegration of the system. The growing crises towards which the world is inevitably heading will make community self-sufficiency more attractive and necessary for a growing number of people. This, in turn, reduces dependence on the state and thus increases the potential for resistance. It is also important that the situation is explained with patience and consistency. As many people as possible need to know that this is not an attack on them, but on a culture that has led them astray for too long. This subtle indoctrination needs to be broken down bit by bit. In doing so, the central message must never be watered down or relativized to gain short-term sympathy. Only when confidence in the system has been definitively shaken will radical solutions receive widespread support. But only if the movement has already coherently defended its point of view.
But why this poor train? It’s so sustainable! The question shows just how far the discussion has strayed from the real meaning of the words. Sustainable does not mean: technique A releases 10% less toxic substance B than technique C. A crop or technique is sustainable if it can be used in the same place for several thousand years without destroying it. Only a sustainable culture can be truly peaceful, because it alone does not depend on repeated conquests. In the truest sense of the word, nothing in the rail industry is sustainable. Not steel, not plastic, not aluminum, not diesel, not even electricity, no matter the source. But in the final analysis, it’s not the train that’s the issue. It’s not a question of whether it engages in war logistics (it does), supports land grabbing from indigenous peoples (it does), exploits its employees (it does) or, with its routes, cuts up the remaining forests and grasslands into smaller and smaller pieces, preventing wildlife migrations (it does). It’s a fitting target, as it allows us to strike peacefully at the whole system and its commodity transport routes. Electricity pylons, fiber optic cables, logistics companies, pipelines and factories are also legitimate targets.
If you’ve read these lines, you’ve already left the restricted domain of information intended for you. You probably already have serious doubts about the authority of the ruling elite. We ask you to reflect on the ideas contained in this short text. Examine them; contradict them where they need to be contradicted; then do what needs to be done. The world needs you. We need you.

Over the last 200 years, industrial society has acquired unprecedented capabilities. It has clearly demonstrated its absolute inability to cope with this responsibility by causing the sixth mass extinction, a process that could potentially far surpass any other extinction event in the history of life.
This potential for apocalyptic destruction manifests itself in climate change, the atomic threat and the many other appalling things whose consequences we can currently only guess at. Genetics, nano-technologies, Artificial Intelligence, total surveillance and geo-engineering are just a few examples. These are based on a combination of technological capabilities and the competitive pressure to employ them. The various currents of the established political spectrum have positioned themselves on this combination in accordance with who they are. Although their attitudes can only be roughly characterized, we must nevertheless attempt to do so in order to distance ourselves from them.
In the worldview of the right, competition is of paramount importance. Conservatives and liberals put it at the top of the list for its innovation-promoting properties; on the far right, some even speak candidly of selection. The strategy of the far right is therefore essentially to bring people together to form the strongest possible group (“Nation”, “Race” etc.). Competition within the group is limited to what is strictly necessary (“community of the people”). It naturally follows that, against all rationality, those on the right must deny the effects of technology such as climate change. In the clash between modern states, only those who use and abuse technology can ultimately persist. The fact that so-called conservatives lament the disappearance of traditional values and ways of life, even as they zealously invest in technology to be more competitive and stay on the warpath, manifests their short-sightedness. And when those on the margins of the right-wing spectrum acknowledge the progress of environmental destruction, it’s only to use it as a pretext to intensify competitive behavior in the face of inescapable decline.
On the spectrum of left, all the negative consequences of technology are immediately attributed to capitalism, which is said to be the source of competition. Sometimes, it is even the much more recent neo-liberalism that is identified as responsible. There’s an optimistic view that we could put an end to the struggles of competition on earth, and then peacefully use the wonders of technology – yes, that it might even “remove the shackles” from the forces of production. No thanks!
A quick glance at a biology book is all it takes to see that competition is not 40 or 400 years old, but 3 billion years old. There is incontrovertible evidence of its presence at least as far back as the Cambrian explosion, 540 million years ago. Without lapsing into vulgar Social Darwinism, we must recognize that it is an integral part of life. This million-year-old component of all living beings must now be abolished, either by changing the ownership of the means of production, or by using friendlier (!) language.
Our critique of leftists does not focus on their attempt to replace competition with solidarity! The problem is that, in the long run, even minimal rivalries lead to the exhaustion and extension of technological means of power, and thus to an escalation of the vicious circle. All efforts in this direction will therefore only be successful in the short term, as long as the technological question remains unresolved.
Just as quickly as these pitiful attempts break down when they come into contact with reality, the culprit is found – it’s the fault of humans. We need a “new man”, the man of the future! They all agree on this, from left to right, from dreamer to cynic, from esoteric New-Age to scientist, from naively woke to tech-bro, from Nazi eugenicist to Cultural Revolution redguard, from Nietzsche to Skinner, from Harari to Kurzweil. Ultimately, it’s about adapting humans to the needs of the social machine, and thus domestication. It’s about an undignified existence as a cog in the machine.
And indeed, our current psyches (as well as our bodies!) are the result of violent past adaptations. The radical changes in our relationship with time since the advent of clocks and electric light, and the associated stress, are just one example. Anyone who can’t adapt quickly ends up in a psychiatric hospital. As the exponential competition between states pushes them in the near future to ever more drastic budget cuts in the social system, we can expect that those unwilling or unable to adapt will fare worse and worse. In the context of increasing social coldness, it is clear what fate awaits the “useless”.
For our part, we say: leave human beings as they have always been, just free them from the machinery they lost control of long ago!
As a small symbolic contribution to this, at the end of May we placed incendiary devices on 3 cell towers in Langenfeld, Erkrath and between the “Auf dem Sand” and “Hülsen” industrial areas in Hilden. Unlike our actions in January this year and last year, nothing was reported in the media. Since the local press reports every week with great interest on the burning of garbage cans and car tires, the lack of media coverage can clearly be attributed to police tactical considerations.

The Rhine-Alpine corridor connects Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Duisburg, Cologne, Frankfurt, Mannheim, Basel, Zurich, Milan, and Genoa, some of Europe’s most significant economic centers. In the Duisburg-Düsseldorf-Cologne region, this corridor encounters one of its many bottlenecks. Any disruption to rail traffic at this location has direct or indirect repercussions on this economic area due to the rerouting of the impacted trains.
We have just caused a disruption of this kind north of Düsseldorf Airport. To do so, we once again used the ice block timer from our manual “Kabel Anzünden für Beginner” (Burning Cables for Beginners).
We have already explained our motivations in detail in our own words. This time, we would like to borrow those of Emmanuel Sieyès:
The aim of this text is fairly simple. We must ask ourselves three questions.
What is nature? Everything.
What has it been until now in society? Nothing.
What does it ask to be? Something.
Who is bold enough to maintain that nature does not contain within itself everything necessary to constitute a good life? It is like someone strong and robust with one arm still in chains. If industry were removed, the world would not be something less but something more. What then is nature? Everything; but an everything that is fettered and oppressed. What would it be without industry? It would be everything; but free and flourishing. Nothing will go well without nature; everything would go considerably better without the industrial system.
The most capable people in the mainstream environmental movement are obliged to practise flattery and devote themselves to the service of the powerful to earn a living. Perhaps the boldest champions of industry within the established climate movement are to be found among those endowed at birth with plenty of intelligence but very little soul, who are as greedy for money, power and pats on the back from the powerful as they are incapable of understanding the value of freedom.
No, it is too late to work for the conciliation of all parties. What sort of an agreement could one hope for between the energy of the oppressed and the fury of the oppressors? They have dared utter the word corporate migration as a nightmare scenario. Heavens! How fortunate it would be if so desirable an exodus could be perpetuated! How easy it would be to do without the corporations! How difficult it will be to induce them to become sustainable!
I can sense that these truths, however certain they might be, are likely to provoke something like embarrassment in a culture which was not formed under the auspices of sustainability. Nothing, however, can be done about this. If the house that you built is held together by all sorts of artificial devices and supported by scaffolding put in place without any other taste or design than to prop up its various parts as and when they threaten to fall down, then you will either have to rebuild it or resign yourself to living, as they say, from one day to the next, constantly short of ease or comfort and perpetually anxious about being finally crushed under its debris.
I know that such principles will seem extravagant to most readers. Truth must seem as strange to prejudice as prejudice must seem to truth. What better can I do than help with all my strength to disseminate what is true as the way to prepare the ground? Initially, this may not be well received. Gradually, however, it will come to be accepted; public opinion will take shape and principles that at first were taken to be wildly illusory will finally come to be felt to be entirely practicable. With almost every kind of prejudice, if no one was not at first willing to be described as mad, the world today would be very much the less wise.
You might yet say that minds are still not ready to understand you and that you are bound to offend a large number of people. So be it. The truth that it is most useful to publicize will not be the one that is already almost visible and almost ready to be accepted. On the contrary, it is precisely a truth that offends the most prejudices and the most personal interests that is the one that it is most essential to spread.
Reason and justice cannot bend to convenience. In the end it is not worth asking what the right balance is between industry and nature. It is like asking what kind of place a malignant tumor should have in the body of someone who is ill, as it devours and ruins their health. It simply has to be neutralized.

Dear reader,
We have probably never met, but we still know a few things about you. We know that you ingested dioxin and PCBs through your mother’s milk; that you were exposed to a cocktail of natural, radioactive, and electromagnetic radiation from a very young age. And we know that several grams of microplastics have already accumulated in your blood, kidneys, liver, and even your brain.
What we don’t know is when you will finally recognize these daily assaults for what they are. When will you take it all personally? How much are you willing to take? And why? When will you fight back? Will you ever?
Where is your limit?
We have reached our limits. That is why, some time ago, we placed an incendiary device under the two transformers at the Unterfeldhaus substation. This was mainly intended to affect the Max-Planck-Straße industrial area. It was still warm at the time; our aim was not to freeze the residents of the neighborhood without warning. We will not provide any more precise information about the timing—the police can make an effort to find out.
We filled 18 500ml plastic bottles with 9 liters of firelighter fluid and placed them in a large cooking pot. We used a pyrotechnic igniter rather than an electrical one to avoid the risk of ignition failure due to the strong electromagnetic fields from the transformer. We also spray-painted “KAB” [Kommando Angry Birds] and “SWITCH OFF” in red on a wall.
We don’t know how badly the transformer was damaged. We’ll probably only find out the details if we go to court. If the ignition did indeed fail, we were at least able to show that it’s child’s play to break into transformer stations without getting caught.
Our best regards to the right-wing clowns who regularly wish us jail time on their forums and comment sections. Save yourself the trouble—if we were afraid of prison, we wouldn’t be doing this.
It is precisely because we take the possiblity of being convicted into account that we share our methods and thoughts as openly as possible with others. In the weeks following this action, we tested timers and thought about what to do next. The results can be found in the attached text.

We claim responsibility for the sabotage of the railroad line that occurred north of Leverkusen. Incendiary devices were placed in a large cable shaft located at the northeast corner of the bridge spanning the Wupper River, as well as in a narrower shaft halfway between the underpass beneath the bridge and the cell tower. We used timers, which we had previously described in the pamphlet “move fast and break things”, as well as one liter of liquid fire starter per device. We regret that the fire spread slightly beyond the tracks [more precisely, into the adjacent brush], and we thank the firefighters for bringing it under control. In the future, we will wait for more favorable weather conditions.
The political interpretation of our actions has led to a few journalistic errors. We had already distanced ourselves, in a previous text, from the dominant ideologies of our time. The fact that even the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution [Verfassungsschutz, domestic intelligence service] merely skimmed the text should give us pause for thought. Once again, in brief:
For the left, human beings are fundamentally equal in terms of abilities and value. It follows that everyone should have roughly equivalent power and economic status. The right places greater emphasis on differences between individuals. It demands that positions of power within the social hierarchy be held by the most competent people. This debate is significant and must take place in every society. However, the extent to which this cultural conflict has taken hold in people’s minds now prevents us from focusing on what really matters. Because, of course, for the sake of convenience, it is always the opposing side that is held responsible.
We are in the midst of a mass extinction. If nothing is done to halt it, humanity will succumb to it sooner or later. The cause of mass extinction is technological escalation. It is called “progress” by those who profit from it. The cause of technological escalation is competition.
Since competition among living beings can certainly be reduced but not eliminated, it is necessary to do away with industrial technology. In an emergency, this can be carried out by a small minority through sabotage. Governments and corporations cannot do away with industrial technology because of the laws of competition, as doing so would undermine the very foundations of their own power.
It is impossible to rebuild all industrial production processes once they have been completely destroyed.
Plants, animals, and many human beings will immediately be better off. For those living in cities, the transition will be difficult at first — uncomfortable and dangerous — but we will get through it. Over time, we will come to appreciate its benefits.
Our movement goes by many names: we are anti-industrialists. We are the anti-technology movement. We are biocentric. We are deep green. We are the new machine breakers.
This movement will prevent the planet from being torn to pieces. We do not ask for permission to do so.
