The Wildlands Project was created to develop a comprehensive North American Wilderness Recovery Strategy. Foreman has spent the last twenty years as a full-time conservationist. He launched a new conservation magazine, ‘Wild Earth!,” after leaving full-time employment with national conservation organizations in the late 1980s. ‘Wild Earth!” promotes the ideas of large ecological wilderness preserves and supports the growing grassroots “New Conservation Movement.” Foreman is also the owner of a conservation mail order bookstore, Dave Foreman’s Books of the Big Outside. He is the author of “Confessions of an Eco-Warrior” (1991), co-author of “The Big Outside” (1989) and co-editor of “Ecodefense” (1985). Doug Peacock, the author of “Grizzly Years” (1990), has devoted his life to saving the grizzly bear and its wild habitat. He is best known as Edward Abbey’s inspiration for his character, George Hayduke, in the “Monkey Wrench Gang.” Admission is $5.00 at the door, or tickets can be purchased in advance at The Patagonia Outlet in Dillon. Proceeds will go to the Alliance For The Wild Rockies. Transportation to Bozeman is available by calling Beth Sullivan at 683–2580.
