There’s been a sudden influx of comments relating to my own politics, casting aside any debate for the mere fact I’m not left-wing. This isn’t a thread I wanted to do, but here goes.

Am I right wing? By a leftists standards, absolutely yes. By a rightists standards, maybe yes, maybe no. Would I say I am? Yes. Specifically a Monarchist, an ideal which sits just below Junger’s Anarch, then Gurdjieffian machinism, and finally, above all, God.

However, do I center every conversation around my politics? I’d like to think not. I’ve interviewed a voodoo priest, a druid, multiple communists, Buddhists, nihilists, Muslims, democrats, conservatives, liberals and neoliberals, and I’ve sought only to treat their views sincerely.

If people want to conflate all the content with my own politics — which I believe, rarely, if ever, make an appearance — they’re free to do so, but in doing so they’re just doubling down on their own ignorance.

If the left wishes to believe that any other belief is somehow a glitch, and not a sincere belief, they can do so, but I can’t imagine it will work out too well.

I started Hermitix to discuss what I consider to be undervalued ideas and thinkers, I feel I’ve somewhat succeeded.
